The Doomed Moon, Syke

A small, quickly deteriorating moon of the gas giant Titania; the system is being encroached on by the Wildfire Nebula; causing orbital destabilization and eventual destruction of everything within it. The smaller celestial bodies within the system are the first to feel the effects of the nebula, and as such, Syke is likely soon to go.  The population of the world has largely fled;  only those unable to have done so left.     As Marvo Rish has described, most signs of civilization have been ravaged and destroyed;  a massive planetary storm that scours across the surface the cause of some, the seemingly crazed raiders and bandits the cause of others.  The largest city on Syke, Port Oberon, is supposedly full of desperate people, if still standing at all.  The Syke Research Institute still stands, as does a settlement Marvo called Slatestack.

Geography

Originally a predominantly arid place, forests grew largely within large valleys and massive canyons that scarred the rocky surface. The coastlines offered marshes and swamps, but little tended to grow tall. The planet's true value came from a variety of extremely rare crystal formations found within its crust; crystals that the various factions of Chiran were desperate enough to mine this out of the way world for. At least, until the Wildfire grew too close. Now abandoned to all but the most desperate, and those left behind, its surface is forever in flux. Its orbit falling closer and closer to Titania, and the very fabric of its mass being eroded by the nebula, a massive storm now ravages the surface; sweeping across it as the moon spins. What once were oceans are now shallow and muddy, as most water immediately returns to the massive storm to scour and reshape the moon's surface as it goes. The landscape, even more barren than before, demonstrates few landmarks that aren't either protected by technology or the few mountain ranges big enough to withstand the barrage. Everything else has been swept away, or buried.

Fauna & Flora

Only two types of creatures have managed to survive the surface of this world by this point; those strong enough to withstand the cataclysmic storm cycle, or those fast enough to outrun it.

Natural Resources

The Three Stones: Colloquially known as Floatstone, Steamstone, and Shakestone, they're in extremely high demand throughout Chiran, which led to the resource gathering that gave this moon it's industry and population.   Floatstone: A mass of crystal that appears to resist gravitational force; the larger the stone, the more it resists. Large enough gatherings of this stone could be found hovering above the surface of the planet; although most of these have been picked clean by now.   Steamstone: A complex crystal with ties to conjuration and evocation magics; striking the stone causes it to emit steam in strong bursts.   Shakestone: A crystal structure that appears to shake and vibrate in place. Relatively useless on its own, but when combined with steamstones in well designed contraptions, leads to an engine like mechanism.
