Wyluli Wolf
First discovered by the famous biologist Maimun al-Wyluli, from whom the wolves take their name, wyluli wolves are not only unusually intelligent and self-aware, but dangerous and adept hunters as well.
Omnivorous Eaters Found exclusively in the oases of the Karun Desert, wyluli wolves will hunt any creature they find in their territory, indiscriminately consuming camels, antelopes, reptiles, and even scorpions. During the dry seasons, when both water and food are scarce, wyluli wolves will even consume cacti and other desert flowers. By using their heavily padded feet, meant for resisting the heat of the heat of the sand, to roll cacti along the dunes, the wyluli wolves are capable of removing the spines and getting at the watery liquid and fleshy interior.
Bound to a Pack Like most species of wolves, wyluli wolves prefer to live and hunt in packs; however, the packs of wyluli wolves are often much smaller, usually less than a dozen in size. Even stranger, wyluli wolves are incredibly friendly when not on the hunt, and capable of pack-bonding even to non-canines such as desert foxes, bobcats, kangaroos, and hyenas. This tendency to pack-bound with others makes them ideal companions for adventures and merchants which tend to move in small groups, though because the Karun Desert is so remote and isolated from the rest of Rabiah, wyluli wolves remain relatively rare except as companions to desert druids and rangers.
