Arvad the Cursed
Arvad the Cursed was once a noble knight of Benalia, dedicated in service to his country and to the Church of Serra. On a crusade to expel dark powers from innocent lands, Arvad was struck with the curse of vampirism by Kazarov Sengir. However, Arvad’s dedication to the cause of good led him to fight against the pull of the curse, attempting to retain his moral compass. Though he is no longer a knight of Benalia, he still attempts to serve good, and remains as dedicated as ever to the worship of Serra.
Protector of the Weatherlight After being struck with his curse, Arvad no longer had a home to return to, and instead wandered the land, following what he felt to be the call of Serra. This led him to the reconstruction site of the famous skyship Weatherlight, as well as its captain and crew. After successfully defending the Weatherlight from being burned down, Arvad earned the trust of his companions, and was appointed the official security chief of the vessel.
Against Darkness Though Arvad is a vampire, it was not by his choice, and he considers the symptoms of his curse to be an ailment. A righteous knight before falling to the infection of Kazarov Sengir, Arvad has struggled to keep his vampiric urges under control, and to adjust to a life lived in darkness. In serving the Weatherlight, Arvad finds it much easier to manage his hunger when nearby the powerstone which controls the ship, and the energy from it seems to dilute his vampiric curse, allowing him to even walk in sunlight.
Controlled Strength Since coming under the influence of his curse, Arvad has gone to great lengths to ensure he remains steadfast in his moral code. Arvad does not feast unless greatly pushed, and only against those of great evil. Despite this, the strikes of Arvad’s weapons themselves seem to drain life from his opponents, and the sight of their blood grants him renewed strength. When pressed, Arvad can call upon the power of his deity, Serra, to strike with holy force, in an attack that is highly effective against the powers of darkness.
