Anthousa, Setessan Hero
Highest in renown among all the citizens of Setessa, Anthousa is perhaps the greatest hearo Setessa has ever known. Found as a child and taken in as arkullos-orphaned children communally raised by all Setessans- Anthousa has been dedicated to Karametra all her life and trained in the ways of the Setessan warriors.
Daughter of Karametra Like all arkulli brought to Setessa, Anthousa was raised by the polis at large, and like many other arkulli, Anthousa does not know her true heritage. Found in the forest as an infant, miles from the nearest homestead ANthousa has never known her life outside of Setessa.
Lack of knowledge about her origins has never seemed to slow Anthousa down, and even from a young age she took to the Setessan way of life as if she was born for it. Seeing her skill in combat and her ease in nature, some even whisper that ANthousa wasn't born, but created by Karametra herself, the daughter of a god made specifically to lead the Setessan People in Karametra's stead.
Leader of Setessa Anthousa is now the leader of Setessa's Council of Warrioirs, the group of warriors that oversees the Setessan army and the raising of the arkulli. She is also Karametra's closet advisor, ruling the city in Karametra's place when the god is away, as she often is. Never has Anthousa's position been challenged, and she was granted it at a young age, in the moment that her spark of heroism truly ignited.
When Keranos, God of Storms, sent a devastating malestrom to punish Setessa in response to an insult from Karametra, Anthousa was caught outside in the downpour. Seeing this, and knowing Karametra's favor for the mortal, Keranos used a bolt of lightning to awaken a long-slumbering colossus, thirty feet tall. As the colossus chased Anthousa, Nylea sent vines to slow the tritan's devastation of other forest, and Anthousa sieszed the moment as her chance for victory. Climbing the vines to its neck, and calling to her mother Karametra for guidance, Anthousa used her dagger to slice the colossus' head clean off, ending it in a single blow.
