The Pox

Lost to Time, Now Returned

A sickness that only affects the Fae, the Pox can be a deadly sickness if left untreated. However, it has not been seen for over 1,000 years, long enough that even the Fae themselves have forgotten how to treat it. Which makes the recent signs of its return in Dragbourne even more concerning than they already are. It is likely that only the Archivist of Histories could tell anyone what the actual cure is, now.

Signs of Sickness

If you have an increase in coughing, temperature, vomiting, muscle pains or weakness, and/or shortness of breath, and are one of the Fae, you could be suffering from the Pox. If you are experiencing any of these signs, it is best to quarantine yourself from healthy individuals until a healer can check on you and provide treatment. Among those affected by the Pox, the most susceptible to catching it are children, elderly, and those who are already sick, and these individuals see the highest rate of death among the affected should they catch the disease.

Treatment with No Cure

With the return of the sickness in Dragbourne, and cases of those affected on the rise, a cure is needed now more than ever. Until one can be found, however, the sick are left to normal methods of treating sickness: warm rags on the forehead, clear broths for nutrients, and being kept indoors as much as possible with their caregivers, who must also be considered sick during this time. Healing Aura can affect the sickness, but only so much, leaving many scrambling for how to keep their loved ones alive.
