Shadowfel Material
As its cousins, shadowfel material does not refer to any one material, yet a collective of any materials that come from the Underdark. From a handful of sand, to the strongest woods and metals, this material has high value to anyone that an understand its worth and capabilities. Few can work it into functional items, and most are worn as found trinkets, a testament to true luck and happenstance.
While shadowfel material is not as revered as celestial material, it is certainly not shunned as is infernal material. It also does have some side effects, usually harmless, but definitely unexpected.

History & Usage
Discovery
The first recorded account of shadowfel material dates back to the earliest records of history. The item in question had most definitely been in place long before its discovery and use. A young elven warrior had been tasked with the investigation of an area in the forest of Du Weldenvarden that had reported strange creatures and plants unknown to the area. He noticed that the reports were indeed true and that something had, for lack of a better word, altered a large section of the forest. His observations are recorded in The History of the Shadowfel Heart. He found the source of the strange goings on, an ore quite similar to platinum that had a deep purple glow, exactly in the center of the altered area.
