Aerocrystal

A truly unique and remarkable material, aerocrystal is both considerably rare and difficult to harvest. It is formed when certain elements are deposited into cloud formations via volcanic eruptions or other similar occurrences. These deposits can float indefinitely in the cloud which they form, or attach themselves to an aerial island or, in rare instances, a mountain top or cliffside.

Material Characteristics

Aerocrystal is a translucent silver to translucent light blue crystal that grows in clusters of points and can even form spheres of points if formed inside a cloud and never deposited.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Armour: While Wearing Medium armour made from Aerocrystal the armour does not have a dexterity cap. While wearing Heavy armour made from aero crystal you may add your dexterity to the ac to a maximum of 2.

Weapon: Weapons made from Aerocrystal are considered finesse weapons.

History & Usage

Discovery

The Air Genasi of Vormir were the first to discover aerocrystal and it's properties. Though a rare material, it eventually found it's way into the trade market and became a widely sought out item.

Everyday use

While weapons and armour of aerocrystal are not hard to find, its most common use is in the construction of airships due to its strength and near weightlessness.

Hazards

The heights at which aerocrystal is found and harvested present the most hazards. Maintaining flight at such heights AND being able to harvest the material were the most difficult obstacles to overcome. Airships that harvest aerocrystal are routinely smashed against their end goal by rogue winds and gales.
