Mosslins
Small fae that roam the forests and jungles of Ostara. They are carnivorous scavengers, feeding on small carrion and dead fauna they find. Mosslins are a strange and very unique fae. They do not directly reproduce but instead have "Birthing Pools." Birthing Pools are initially formed in forests where Od and vis has naturally been drawn, concentrated and focused into a balanced state above a pool of mud full of the skeletons and remains of animals accumulated over hundreds of years. This blanaced state of od and vis breathes life into the mud pool, forming a "Birthing Pool." From the assorted bones, moss, plant matter, and mud living creatures called Mosslins are formed and emerge from within the mud. The bones of the many animals forms the mosslins skeleton, the plant matter its flesh and muscle, the moss stretched and stringed out into its veins, arteries, and capillaries and finally the mud forming its blood. The Birthing Pool retains its magic and will continue to form more mosslins as more plants and bones are added into the pool. The newly born mosslin will scour the nearby forest, searching for small deceased animals. The mosslin will devour any remaining flesh on the carrion and then deposit any found bones into its birthing pool. Mosslins can always tell the direction of their Birthing Pool and have a fantastic memory of their forests layout. They also have great eyesight and an extremely sensitive nose that can detect rotting flesh over 2 miles away. Since mosslins are formed from the collections of random bones from random animals their physical forms vary greatly from individual to individual. Usually they are around 2-3 feet in height and bipedal. When first born mosslins aren't fully developed. chunks of their flesh are missing and pieces of bone are still exposed
