Beastmaster Orvyn Blackett
Orvyn Blackett was born in the small village of Stonevale in the kingdom of Breswald. He was an only child and his father, a cart driver, was his closest companion. Orvyn's childhood was a happy one, spent exploring the nearby woods and helping his father with his work. However, tragedy struck when Orvyn was just eight years old. His father was crushed by a cart while unloading it and died instantly.
With no other relatives to turn to, Orvyn and his mother were left alone to fend for themselves. They struggled to make ends meet, but Orvyn worked extra hard to help his mother with the farming. Sadly, when Orvyn was thirteen, his mother contracted the grimble pox, and passed away after a long year of suffering. Orvyn was devastated by her death, but knew that he had to carry on and make a living for himself.
Feeling disillusioned with the life he had known, Orvyn decided to put his strength to use as a sellsword. He joined a group of mercenaries and quickly learned the ways of war. However, he soon became disillusioned with the cruelty he saw displayed by some of the other bands he had fought with. Orvyn felt that there had to be a better way to earn a living as a warrior.
In his mid-twenties, Orvyn founded the Painted Beasts, a mercenary company based out of the city of Bamney near Thaxton. The company quickly gained a reputation for being trustworthy and skilled in combat. Orvyn became known as the Beastmaster, due to his ability to tame and train all kinds of creatures to fight alongside his soldiers.
Orvyn has spent his entire life as a mercenary, fighting in foreign wars and providing caravan security. He has seen more battles than he can count and has the scars to prove it. Despite his grizzled exterior, Orvyn has a kind heart and a soft spot for animals, often taking in stray dogs and cats he comes across during his travels.
Orvyn has a reputation as a fierce warrior, and many tales have been told of his exploits on the battlefield. He has fought against everything from rampaging ogres to hordes of undead, and has emerged victorious time and time again. Now in his later years, Orvyn is still leading the Painted Beasts with vigor and determination. He knows that his days as a warrior are numbered, but he refuses to let age slow him down. Orvyn is determined to leave a legacy behind, one that will ensure that the Painted Beasts will continue to thrive long after he's gone.
