The curse that turned the Avraki forest into its current wasteland

Jessia judged Davis Puchic and his ilk. From the ends of the Eternal Halls of her reign, she saw Puchic as so thoroughly evil that she sought to isolate him in a way that not even death could. Her immense wrath turned the entirety of the Avrak from a swampy forest into an unforgiving wasteland. The energy of her curse radiated off the dunes like heat and destroyed the flocks of vampires under Puchic's control. Entire populations, such as the Scorched Elves and the Naki found themselves the victims of the collateral damage of Puchic's punishment and swore vengeance against him and those under his control.   This unintentionally thinned out the Ley Lines in the region from which Puchic drew a majority of his power and weakened the presence of magic on the entire continent.
