A contractor wanting to build a hunting Lodge in Surreisham hires OSHA to see if the area is safe after their original inspector has gone missing within the area

HUNTING LODGE SITE INSPECTION   My employer is interested in building a hunting lodge just on the edge of the forest near Surreisham. We have heard rumors that there might be dangers in these woods, and the original inspector we paid, a ranger by the name of Elewyn has not returned. We seek a report of the local conditions and if she is encountered, word of Elewyn's fate.   Reward: 1,000 GP for a successful inspection report +500 GP for news of Elewyn's fate   Report:   After initial reconnaissance around Surriesham revealed dangers in the woods and multiple missing persons, we contracted a guide to lead us into the woods to find an ancient oak tree possibly at the center of the problems here. We discovered the area had been taken over by giant spiders, and they had somehow formed some kind of strange humanoid zombie creatures. Dispatching these, we progressed toward our destination until we heard cries for help off the trail. We found a gnomish druid, Gerry, trapped in a web, and fought off two more spiders to free him. Reaching the oak our gnome friend revealed that these spiders were an invasive underdark variety, the tree we sought was in fact enclosing a dryad, and the tree needed healing. We climbed this massive oak tree only to find and fend off more spiders and their zombie spawn. There we discovered our quarry, the ranger Elewyn. She led us to an errant Peterparker creature which shepherded these spiders and had them killing locals and creating zombies. We destroyed it and torched its lair. In our assessment the land remains too wild and unpredictable for a hunting lodge, though it may have need of contracted invasive species control which could be fulfilled by professional (not amateur) hunters.   West Lee
