We hunted hippogryphs to help create lady's hats... and fed a dragon.

Maeree's Millinery prides itself on having only the best hats for the best clients in Blessedferry. Unfortunately, I am out of hippogryph feathers, and my usual source for them has dried up. I need someone to travel to my homeland to the southwest and harvest the five largest primary flight feathers on each wing. I need a total of thirty feathers, but will provide additional compensation if more are brought to me. After meeting with the hatmaker who hired us in Blesedferry, we made the long journey southward toward the hippogriff hunting grounds. We contracted a mining barge to take us within walking distance, and soon after encountered a griffin feasting on the corpse of a freshly downed hippogriff, which we dispatched so we might safely harvest the feathers. Then we came upon a young red dragon and her kobold followers on pet griffins, and she claimed the griffin we killed as one of hers. We negotiated a settlement whereby we were able to fulfill our contract, and furnish enough hippogriffs for the red dragon’s aims in payment for the slain pet. The red dragon took her shared of hunted hippogriffs back for a banquet being held by her parent dragon."
