Metaphysical / Paranormal event
Saltizar has contacted OSHA to help hunt what he believes is an old wolf that has been leaving animal carcasses along the treeline.
BRING ME THE BEAST'S PELT! While visiting an old friend I heard the call of the wolf in the forests near Palemill. I'm sure of it, my old nemesis Snowfang is responsible for that call, and the viciously savaged animal carcasses left just within the tree line are his doing. Alas, I am too old and injured to go on this hunt, so instead, I come to you to put an end to him before his attacks turn toward the townsfolk! Bring me his pelt as proof of his death. I can tell you all about my encounters with Snowfang if you meet with me in the Southharbor OSHA guildhall. Saltizar Reward: 1,000 GP for an intact pelt. 500 GP if only proof of death is provided BEFORE FINAL ENCOUNTER After finishing another mission we ended up in the south harbor OSHA Guildhall and there was an old man talking about a strange wolf that kills a whole bunch of people. After a little bit of talking between me and Florda the old man talks to us about Snowfang for a bit. Florda goes to get his nails done while I do some actual research at the library. Some of the books had awesome pictures and some weird stories about pigs, houses and lumberjacks but I learned the following list of things about werewolves: Weak to bricks Weak to axes If eaten no harm comes to the eaten Likes to play dress up Snowfang is strong Has a wolf form and a humanoid form Attack multiple times If bitten will infect with werewolf curse Weak to Silver Avoids fire Clerics can remove curse Florda and I met up again to discuss a plan of attack which involved getting silver weapons. After acquiring silver weapons we go back to the old man who is still begging people to take this mission. He says he has a friend in Palemill which is where we are supposed to go and that we are going to take a boat! After taking the boat for a couple of days and inventing a new dance called the “Truffle Shuffle”, we are told truffles are made in the form of fries and hopefully harm the werewolf. After talking to the tavern lady (and discovering new runes) she says that there have been bodies appearing around the treeline. We attempt to go out at night but remember werewolves come out during the day. During an early run Florda comes across a hanging dire wolf which we continue to follow the tracks which leads to a burnt down campfire and a charred corpse with footprints around the camp. After paying respects to the corpse and grabbing a bow for possible identification later, we follow the tracks to a campsite with the Father and Daughter Duo of the Tavern Lady. Franklin (the Father) identifies the owner of the bow and we agree to take the shifts throughout the night to avoid any mishaps. AFTER FINAL ENCOUNTER Franklin was missing in the morning and we followed his trail to an opening in the forest. We were met with the bloodhunter which used the shadows in the shadowfell to travel around. After downing all my allies my mind started to play tricks on itself. I grabbed the daughter and began to run from the creatures, away from the massacre, away from the past. All while the monster taunted me in that voice that still haunts my dreams from way back then. Finally when it reached me I turned and split its skull, killing the monster but not the memories it brought back. We flayed the thing and brought it all the way back to Saltizar to prove it wasn’t snowfang causing issues within the Palemill. I need to take a break from adventuring for a while until the memories go away again. ~Growthan Filer notes: Check in with Growthan, maybe recommend a pet
