Void Sickness exists as a black oil like substance, that acts as a conduit for Balgusses influence upon exposure. This black oil is commonly referred to as Void Tears, a contagion created by Balguss to corrupt those it touches. This contagion slowly warps the land, turning it from a vibrant ecosystem to a desolate one. Mortal’s exposed to it undergo the maddening process of transforming into beings known as Kenos. Through the kenos Balguss can spread his influence more efficiency, as they act as a conduit for his power.
Infection
Exposure to Void Tears causes both madness and monstrous transformations to the infected. Creatures that become infected by Void Sickness leads to a special condition called Fallen. Fallen is measured by four different levels, each level leading to the infected closer to corruption. Exposure to more Void Tears or failure to resist it can give a creature one or more levels of fallen.
If an already afflicted creature suffers from another effect that causes fallen, its current level of fallen increases by the amount specified in the effect's description. A creature suffers the effect of its current level of fallen as well as all lower levels
Fallen Strength DC's
Fallen effects have differing save DCs, which represent its power. The DM may modify the DC to what they deem appropriate. The DC to avoid a fallen effect will equal 10 + half of the creature's challenge rating. An example would be a CR 4 creature would have a DC of 12.
