Waldenna
FOREST OF WONDERS
During the First Era, the Atrian Elves led an expedition into the Aluitur Forest to the north of Atria. During this expedition, the Elves discovered that there was an immense source of mana coming from the forest, attracting spirits and magical creatures. The Elves were determined to understand the power that flowed through the forest and harness it to further their knowledge and abilities. The Elves spent years learning the ways of the forest, living off the land, observing the native wildlife, and shaping the forest into enchanted architecture. Through many years of cultivation and study, what began as a curiosity became the country of Waldenna.GEOGRAPHY
Waldenna is a largely forested land in the northern regions of Cordania. The Verdant Mountains to the north of Waldenna protect the country from the chilling winds of the Winter Gate. The snow that accumulates atop the Verdant Mountains melts into the running rivers that support the life in the forest. To the northeast of of Waldenna is the Frozen Sea, a large body of water that is frozen solid for a majority of the year.NOTABLE LOCATIONS
The Verdant Mountains - Vibrant, plant-covered mountains located in the northern region of WaldennaThe Frozen Sea - The inland sea in Cordania's northeastern region that is frozen solid for most of the year
The Lunalia Lake - One of the major lakes of Cordania located in northwestern Atria, a shared body of water between Atria and Waldenna
The Siondel Lake - A lake south of the Verdant Mountains into which many of the rivers flow down from the mountains
The Dornic River - A river that flows south from the Siondel Lake into the Lunalia Lake and the Arpean Sea
The River of Aspiration - One of the three major rivers that flow down from the Verdant Mountains into the Siondel Lake. This river is the center of the three.
The River of Eminence - One of the three major rivers that flow down from the Verdant Mountains into the Siondel Lake. This river is on the west end of the three.
The River of Veneration - One of the three major rivers that flow down from the Verdant Mountains into the Siondel Lake. This river is on the east end of the three.
The Talmithran River - The river that marks Waldenna's western borders separating Asteros from Waldenna
Aluitur Forest - The Aluitur Forest is a vast expanse of trees that stretches from the western border of Waldenna at the Talmithran River to the eastern edge of Waldenna at the Cascading River
Aldoria - Aldoria is the oldest city in Waldenna built in the eastern reaches of the Aluitur Forest. This city was founded by Athaela Aldor who later founded the Aldorian Academy of the Arcane Arts.
Culmen'e - Culmen'e is a port city in the sourthern parts of Waldenna, built on the coasts of the Arpeas Sea.
Glacia - Glacia began as an observatory at the southwestern coast of the Frozen Sea. The city has evolved into a curious state that focuses on the study of the Frozen Sea and surrounding Elven ruins.
Verinthal - Verinthal is the capital city of Waldenna located on the southern banks of the Siondel Lake.
Ymbria - Ymbria is a trade city that facilitates imports and exports to and from Atria. It is located in the northeastern corner of Waldenna on the coast of the Lunalia Lake.
DEMOGRAPHIC
The majority of Waldenna's inhabitants are Elves. Over the many generations, the once Atrian High Elves have evolved to adapt to their forested environment and have taken on slightly different features compared to their ancestors.As the reputation of Waldenna for its arcane learning has increased, there has been an increase in Gnomish demographics coming from Asteros and even Humans coming from Entolia.
The overflow of magical energy has also caused a number of inhabitants to become plane-touched by forces of the elements, forces of light, and even forces of darkness. Many of these plane-touched individuals have been ostracized for their appearance, some have been revered as entities of nature that have ascended from their mortal nature.

Many Elves in Waldenna keep to their traditional worship of Quevala, the Goddess of Life and Mother of the Fey, but the accumulation of mana in Waldenna has brought with it many spirits and minor deities. Because of this, there are numerous shrines and cults dedicated to the various entities that make their presence known to the inhabitants.NOTABLE SECTS
