Freyalise

Ideals & Flaws

Goddess of the wild hunt, life and prosperity. The Endless of family, community, and fertility. Freyalise is the most commonly worshipped of all the Endless and has the name Earthmother among the yeomen of the realms. Her connections to nature, animals, and mortals is felt in all modes of life. Talismans of Freylise are often hung upon the headboards of a bed when a family is trying to bring new life to the world, shrines to her stand outside nearly every woodland to remind hunter's to only kill what they need, and the long days of Goldsummer are filled with many feasts to thank her for the year's harvest.   Each society depicts Freyalise in different forms but most common amongst her icons is the figure of a woman's upper body and the lower half of a deer; She carries a strong bow on her back, a quiver of sun-tipped arrows, and her hair is filled with flowers.   Freyalise is beloved among the peasantry of the realms. Few of the Endless inspire so many in their everyday lives. She is a temperate, and kind goddess who encourages communities to work together, especially in times of hardship. Her connection to nature, and animals makes her the ideal goddess for the noble farmer, and huntsman, while her domains of fertility and family are welcome in nearly every home where there is love to give and receive. She is a goddess of the ordinary people of the world and of peaceful times.

    Temples & Priesthoods

Every rural community in the realms has a temple dedicated to Freyalise. They will often be simple wooden buildings with straw-thatched roofs, and alcoves and pews where peasants will gather, break bread, and say thanks for their meager fortunes. Whatever gold can be spared by such simple communities will be used not to fill the temple with bespoke treasures to glitter inside these shrines, but will be used to aid those among their community who are suffering a hardship, to buy new tools when old ones break and cannot be repaired, or for medicine when sickness plagues the flock.   The Priesthoods of Freyalise are always the wisest among their communities, whether they be old or young. They will be strong in body, and mirthful. They will wear colors of yellow, green, and brown to honor the Earthmother and will preside over feast days, marriages, and name-days of the newly born. They are often gifted in small arts of healing magic, and will be taught alchemical remedies for common ailsments. They will often be emisaries of their community when it must reach out for aid from other nearby towns or cities.
