Delhira

Ideals & Flaws

The Endless of torment, madness, destruction, disaster and liberation. Delhira is referred to as the goddess of calamities. The goddess of the unknown. The goddess of the gaps. She embodies all those places in mortal hearts where there is fear and uncertainty. Her domains are the manifestation of those powers which mortals have no control over. Those events which no amount of preparation, or cunning can account. The fall of a meteor, the crash of a tsunami, a lightning strike. These are her works.   While mortals rightly fear the terrifying power of Delhira, she is also a goddess of liberation. It is said among her priesthood that only after we have lost everything can we stand to gain the only value which there is; the appreciate for our lives. Many would agree that there is something alluring in the way a person, a place, or an idea can be so utterly destroyed as to leave no trace of it, and then to watch something new and beautiful grow from its ashes. For this reason Delhira has no standard depictions and very few icons. She is ever changing. A goddess who sheds her skin each night to become something new. It is impossible to know her will or designs for she is chaos incarnate, and only those who fear nothing at all can be her follower.   Delhira's divine essence can be found in the plane of Pandemonium where there is nothing but discord, chaos, and strife.

    Temples & Priesthoods

Delhira's initiates are those who live nomadic lives. Those who live on the winds, and listen only to the drum of their own heart. Individuals who pay little heed to society, its rules, or its norms. They have no codes, no ethos, and no desires save for the bliss of living every moment truly free. They rarely form long term attachments to places, things, or other people. They are often madmen, barbarians, and survivalists. Delhira's followers are made up of momentary cults which spring to life before or after a calamity has struck and which disolve with the same sense of urgency and haste as they were created.   Delhira's temples are riots. They are villages buried by landslides, or the pits in the ground where a village once stood before the earth swallowed it. They are the ashes left behind in a wildfires and lightning strikes.   Mortals do not build temples to Delhira. They live in them for very short times, and when they leave them they are humbled and changed.
