Primitives

Primitives are it. They're the first conscious, sentient and sapient life in the whole of the cosmos — the primordials, or the Essence of Stars, and the avatars they first created as physical aspects of themselves — it all began here. This outline is considered a living document, subject to changes, as time and the Nexus of Nyn evolves as a worldbuilding project. Their story is not readily known to a universe that has long forgotten them, yet vestiges of their memories and the sacrifices they made to make the universe what it is linger and influence everything today.
From these lingering memories come prophets and religions, and sometimes gods, often misinterpreting what they see and feel.

Primordials and their Avatars

1. Orr - White - The Color of All - masculine - Demon/Angel

• - Avatar's name: Kodra
• - The One; the Original
• - Androgyny begins
• - His heart becomes the magical core of the eponymous world, Orr
• - Heartshard properties: manipulation of space and time; rare and hard to activate

2. Sev - Black - The Color of None - masculine - Demon/Angel

• - Avatar's name: Itzak
• - The clone; the twin of Orr
• - A soul stealer; devourer
• - Forces others back by consuming them
• - Corrupted by fear, jealousy, and anger
• - Never made his own avatar; corrupted Itzak, Orr’s first avatar
• - Heartshard properties: combustion; explosive when combined with sun shards (orange)

3. Nyn - Yellow - The Mother - feminine - Spider

• - Avatar's name: Apaphré
• - Feminine and masculine aspects are introduced with Nyn
• - Namesake for the Nexus of Nyn
• - Devoured by Sev
• - As her final act, Nyn's avatar (Apaphré) is corrupted by Sev and forced to spin a web that connects the primordial hearts; the spell, however, goes awry, and this causes the ensuing portals to become random rifts instead

4. Und - Red - The Father - masculine - Centaur

• - Avatar's name: Malek
• - Separates from Sev on his own
• - Often associated with self-awareness, intellect, and scholarly pursuits
• - Heartshard properties: manipulation of the psyche/emotion

5. Yan - Blue - The Air - feminine - Unicorn

• - Avatar's name: Indis
• - The second strongest
• - Supporter of Orr
• - Heartshard properties: purification

6. Ged - Violet - The Veil - masculine - Dragon

• - Avatar's name: Shard
• - First to understand all life is a part of him
• - Promises renewal to the others; something which Orr, in turn, agrees with and supports
• - Last to create an avatar
• - Heartshard properties: spirit/ether manipulation

7. Itz - Indigo - The Water - masculine - Wolf

• - Avatar's name: Atanu
• - Surrenders himself to Sev, thinking the Twin will stop
• - His avatar goes crazy once he's gone; this makes Atanu vulnerable to Sev's machinations
• - Heartshard properties: nullification - difficult to mine; rare and hard to activate; difficult to transport

8. Gha - Green - The Earth - feminine - Winged Horse

• - Avatar's name: Herophn
• - Responsible for vegetation throughout the universe
• - Heartshard properties: nature manipulation

9. Sei - Orange - The Sun - feminine - Phoenix

• - Avatar's name: Tatzwan
• - Betrayed by Sev
• - Has twins by Sev (Lyren & Eolestra)
• - Her Avatar is devoured by Sev
• - Known to Isla as Hyleka
• - Heartshard properties: heat/energy manipulation
