Name Themes
So for male Christian names there are several themes I tend to use:- Modern surnames - this is the most common one. Many modern day (21st century) surnames make great futuristic sounding surnames
- Roman names - during the Terran Empire, Roman sounding names made a comeback
- Hindi names - Due to the Indian / Hindi influence in the Federation, Federated States and the Empire, there are still a lot of characters with Hindi names, even if they aren't Indian so to speak
- Japanese names - should be rare but due to the Japanese cultural bias in the Yakuza, these have survived where other names have not
Christian Names - Female
Note - I generally use "normal" Christian names for female characters as my "surnames for christian names" thing tends to leave it a bit vague as to gender Still here are some of the names I do like to use- Beatrice
- Elizabeth
- Victoria
- Bethany
- Myanna
- Tori
- Kellaynne
- Ciri
- Anna
- Jesalee
- Jessica
- Keisha
- Terri
Non-Binary Names
No specific list for non-binary names but I find having a "male" Christian name and then just referring to them as "they" is simple enough to make sure that they are properly denotedSurnames
Surnames haven't really changed as much in the Dynasty setting so less of a list and more some basic guidance Try not to use "famous" surnames unless you're sure that the character would be related or affiliated with the name. IE don't have a professor "Axxelson" even if they're unrelated as it'll only create confusion Feel free to make use of double barreled named, especially for aristocratic families.Indirian Names
Indirians, as a rule, do not use surnames and therefore are just referred to by one name. Indirian names tend to have a slightly harsh sound to them and here are a few to serve as examples:- Kastagir
- Annavir
- Koringal
- Adavir
- Annasyra
- Valaharr
- Tannadarr
- Geringar
- Usamakar
- Naveska
- Curasha
- Kanavala
Sentient AI Frames (10th+ generation)
Most sentient AI's like to have a "name" to make it easier for non AI's to identify them. They also prefer to have a numerical prefix as it is then easier for organics to tell, at a glance, that they will be talking to an AI and also so that AI's can tell which AI they are talking to Some AI's have adopted "Teran" surnames to try and fit in (IE Vee Blue) but this is still fairly rare. Some example names:- Boris 110
- Daniel 117
- Clyde 205
- Ramius 301
- Calendra 339
- Janos Koringar 110
Complex Programs or Multi System Programs
Powerful, multi platform sentient AI programs like "Trinity" tend to prefer to have a simple, evocative name to help conjur up an "otherworldy " feel about them Keep in mind that these AIs are still very rare so only use one if you need to and probably check in with the GM to see if its suitable. They will avoid giving press comments so should be exceedingly rare in the Wiki Trinity is the classic example but there are some other example names you could use- Orpheus
- Poseidon
- Pan
- Elipse
- Sundial
- Weaver
- Ringmaster
