The Words of Warning

“To Wizard Esrigall Rekkar, Brightest of our Order,
While I have always held you with the highest regard, I urge you once again to reconsider your proposed course of action. My own exploration into what would happen to this world if we were to open the sky as you suggest has revealed the possibility for disturbing side effects. The ability to channel the sun’s magic directly is indeed appealing, yet you cannot possibly believe there will be no other effects were we to expose our world directly to its power.
Even more concerning is the whispers I have heard in my meditations and rituals. They come to me not as constructed thoughts, but as pure instinct. In my efforts to reach out through our sky I believe I see a lurking danger that would threaten us all, should a pathway be opened. If you are successful in completing the scepter and sundering our sky, there are sure t be dire consequences.
Please, search for yourself. Reach past your own arrogance and consider the risks involved. Some things can only be taken so far, and it is my belief that the power we wield now is more than enough to satisfy our pursuits. It is your ambition to change this world, but that ambition has blinded you to what form those changes may take.
We were founded because we had the strength and power to command peoples of this world, not to destroy the fabric of the planet. All things have limits, and you would do great harm by attempting to surpass them. This is a reckless course of action, and if you continue forward with your plan than I regret I must sever my association with the Order. It has lost its perspective if this body now only wishes to pursue power for power’s sake. Please, turn away from this madness, I beg of you.”
