Memento - By Ehoc
Project Memento was a project started by Ehoc before he passed away. The intention was to share everything he knew about the Ordo with the rest of its members to educate them. His hope was that better decisions could be made and a deeper understanding achieved if they had as much information as possible. After the Flame reappeared again some of the information has turned out to not be correct, although many of the speculations made in this document has been confirmed.
The record was initially made in audio format but has later also been transcribed into the database including many images relating to the content. Although some information has since been refuted, there are aspect within the document which even the Flame has been unaware of. The personal aspect of Ehoc when writing this is unique due to his condition. He only started this project after meeting the Architect, and after his soul was shattered and replaced.

Project “Memento” Entry #0001
I will attempt to reconstruct the complete history of the Ordo Templaris in this project which I have entitled “Memento”. Recent events have lead me to believe that lack of information and understanding has made things more challenging than necessary. If I had been better at sharing my knowledge in the past perhaps things had been different now. For this failing I apologize.
Much has changed over the past months and I have been granted further insight into the Ordo Templaris and what it once was. When myself and Fenrir stumbled upon the ruins on Seswenna we knew very little of the path it would lead us down, and we were deceived by promises of power and stability. We set down a path that was never meant for us, and followed the footsteps of lesser men who had been seduced by the dark side and their own lust for glory.
Through these entries I will attempt to correct the gaps of information and explain the true purpose of the Ordo Templaris, our true purpose. I hope to enlighten those of you who listen to this in a way that will make you more capable in dealing with the challenges that are to come. I hope this will give a better perspective of the vastness of the Universe. Every choice and action we make sends a ripple through time and space, no matter how small and insignificant it may seem.
I will begin my reconstruction in my next entry.

Project “Memento” Entry #0002
One of the first thing I would like to address regarding the History of the Ordo Templaris is the name itself. Fenrir and I learned about it when we first entered the throne room on Seswenna and claimed it for ourselves. I have since learned that it has been slightly misunderstood, if intentional or not I cannot say but there are several aspects of the last Crusaders before us that I find troubling. I will comment on that in a later entry.
It seems a more accurate way of using the name would be Templaris Ordo. It was never intended to be an order of templars, but rather Templars for order. The Ordo Templaris was founded originally in 10,660 after TYA (Tho Yor Arrival) by seven Je’daii on Tython at the dawn of the Force Wars. As the Je’daii order was being torn apart by the followers of the light side (Ashlan) and the dark side (Bogan) started fighting over control and dominance. They recognized that both sides had strafed too far from the very foundation of which their order had been built on. Realizing there was no turning back, and that the Je’daii order would never be the same they got together in secret and formed what now is known as the Ordo Templaris, a secret order of templars to fight for balance between Ashlan and Bogan.
They saw first hand the destruction and corruption that accompanied one side being stronger than the other and recognized the struggle of the force itself to return to neutral. So they made it their mission to aid the force in keeping the balance. During the wars their main focus was turned to the civilians spread across the deep core systems. By capturing and reverse engineering Infinite Empire spaceships they were able to leave the deep core and spread out, founding several colonies for the victims of war.
They left governing these colonies to the civilians themselves and quickly retracted to the shadows, remaining silent guardians as the war raged on.
They founded the Ordo Templaris on simple beliefs, and made a manifesto I have yet to retrieve. The only thing I know is they were seven, designated the Architect, the Flame, the Keeper, the Pillar, the Seeker, the Spear and the Shield. Each with a specific purpose and responsibility. I will go into more detail about these founders in my next entry.

Project “Memento” Entry #0003
I will share what I know of the seven original founders in this entry. I have been fortunate enough to locate at least one rendering of each of them which I will upload along this entry for visual reference. The seven founder were as follow;
Alea later only known as the Pillar. It is my understanding that her primary task was to provide the others with support. She is described as a strong willed but gentle woman with a pure mind. She kept the others focused on their purposes and whatever task was at hand. I am unsure what her final fate was the records I have uncovered so far just stops mentioning her at one point. I will provide more detail on this subject if it resurfaces.
The next was Teregun, named the Flame. A fierce and strong man with a short temper and a strong affinity for the dark side. It seems his task was to ensure the safety and safeguarding of the Templars and their secrets. It is described “As the raging fire he will scorch all those who mean us harm.” Safe to say I am intrigued by this individual. Something I find strange in my research is the fact that he is mentioned far later in history than any of the other founders. I have yet as to uncover the reason for this, or found any satisfactory explanation to it.
The Keeper, named Loanne, described as a beautiful quiet woman. Her task was to observe and record the History and events of the Ordo Templaris. In truth much of my research has only been possible due to her and her descendants work. I have learned how important remembering history was to the first Ordo Templaris, and they understood the importance of remembering history to avoid repeating it. Not only that but until the last Crusade it seems the Ordo never had to relearn everything, rather information was passed down and the Templars of the time did not find themselves in our current situation were everything is ancient history and a maze of cryptic codes and notes. As I have mentioned before there is much to be said about the last Crusade, and I will get back to that in another entry.
A man named Xeph was entitled the Seeker. And much as the title suggests he was sent out to do exactly that. I have learned he was the strongest in the force of any of the seven, or at least his connection ran the deepest. It allowed him to follow the will and the flow in a manner I suspect never before or since has been possible. He guided the Templars to safe planets, warned about attacks and lead them to great discoveries of both the force and science. Most of the locations the Templars ever settled on was discovered by Xeph.
I have learned that the Spear and Shield of the Templars were a couple. Rina and Okera. One was gentle and protective the other fierce and aggressive. They ended up being the faces of the Ordo Templaris, leading their Crusaders into battle and always staying on the front lines. They were to ones to give commands and as far as I understand it run the day to day operations of the Ordo Templaris.
The final founder *there is a long pause in the recording* is the Architect. His original name I do not know. He is the one who took the initiative to start all of this and the one who designed everything. He *another pause in the recording* I will describe him in further detail in a later recording.

Project “Memento” Entry #0004
Before I delve too deep into the ancient story of the Ordo Templaris it is worth mentioning a few words regarding how we came to be what we are today.
It is no secret that it was myself and Fenrir who founded the Ordo Templaris, however what is not common knowledge for all is the fact that we in fact reclaimed it. As I have mentioned before the Ordo Templaris was actually founded centuries ago and we have just picked up a torch that has been dormant for many years.
It was in the aftermath of the Atrox Ascensus, lead by a man named Wolfus and a Twi’lek named Vexe me and Fenrir found our common path again. I have always had a deep interest in history and artifacts, and it was through past exploration I had picked up information regarding Seswenna. Seswenna is as many of you listening to this will know the planet where we first “founded” the Ordo Templaris.
Fenrir and I both felt something was left undone, and I believe that was part of what drove us together. It is undeniable that it must have been the will of the force too, but I will not go into detail regarding that subject.
We landed on the outskirts of a grand temple on Seswenna, and found a small passage leading to a large cave containing what used to be a throne room. It was here we discovered two thrones. In front of them were two swords sheathed in the stone base of the thrones. The area was empty and quiet as we explored it and it was here we first saw the banners we use today, the banners of the Ordo. They were old and worn but still carried a sense of might and power about them. It was only when we first reached for the swords and pulled them free the temple first showed a sign of life.
There was a bright burst of light as a tear in the force appeared. That is the best way I can describe it. A high concentration of dark side energy filled the room and it seemed to reach out for us. We could hear voices of a thousand individuals whispering like banshees in our heads.
I have later learned that it was this entity as we began to call it that lead the last crusaders astray, and almost destroyed our own order.
Alas at the time both myself and Fenrir believed we had been chosen, we believed every word that was whispered in our minds and acted upon them. It was the lure of the dark side that compelled us to declare a crusade on the Jedi and the light side. Mistakenly we set out to eradicate the light side of the force entirely, I am glad now to say that we did not succeed.
I have learned this entity was the result of a confrontation between two factions within the Ordo during the last crusade. The sheer amount of force that had been channeled and the violent death of those involved created a focused centre of force power that lingered for ages.
Exactly what made this entity dissipate I am still unsure of, but I am glad to be rid the tempting whispers.
It was on Seswenna we took our first steps as Templars, and it has been the cradle of our first fragments of knowledge regarding the Ordo. We learned much there and it is unfortunate it is currently lost to us. It was the largest and most important site for the last Crusade, but I take comfort in knowing the last crusade was flawed at its core. The leaders at the time, twin brothers, ruled more like kings over the planet rather then leaders of an order with a purpose. They enslaved the indigenous species and thrived on wealth and power. I am sure now that this was one of their major failures, leading to the abrupt end of the Ordo Templaris.
Although we have lost Seswenna, and the secrets it still may hold, I can with certainty say not all was lost there. Some of the creatures we encountered yet lives, and I have reason to believe we are not entirely done with the planet just yet. I will elaborate in a later entry.
I discovered Dosuun through an artifact recovered in a remote Temple on Seswenna. Bringing with me Ivy, I set out to learn the status of this planet we now have claimed for ourselves. I believe Ivy did not realize at the time, and I suppose still do not realize why I brought her along, but the truth is I fear the power of the artifact would corrupt me, like so many things on Seswenna seemed to do. It may have seem trivial at the time, but it was crucial to the success of that mission.
I have come to learn that Dosuun is just one of many worlds the Ordo established an outpost on. Though I know part of the story regarding the collapse of this world, I have yet to discover the complete history of Dosuun and it’s people. Once a great planet with a thriving civilization now long dead. Sadly it seems the downfall of this civilization was initiated by the Ordo during the last Crusade. I am sure there are yet many secrets we can learn from the Duunas people, from what I know their engineering and mineral processing was at the forefront of technology at the time. If not for their isolation I am sure their fate would have been a much different one.
Regarding the Templar outpost here I have learned it was in fact constructed during the later years of the very first crusade. We know it as the Hall of the Founders, a name given to the structure by the Duunas, and it was built as part of a network of similar structures across the galaxy. This network has played a crucial part in the orders history. Based on Tho Yor technology and unique aspects of the force this network will serve us well now and in the future as well. I will elaborate further regarding the network in a later entry.
The Ordo Templaris as it stand today is much different than what we first started with. As I will try to explain in these recordings I finally understand our purpose. Through balance comes clarity, and I hope to share that with all of you.

Project “Memento” Entry #0005
The roots of the Ordo Templaris run deep as you may now realize, and the history of our order is long. Circumstance has given me a unique insight into this history.
Although it was founded by only seven Je’daii the order quickly grew to include several strong and like minded individuals. They were the first Crusaders.
During the Force War the danger of being exposed became too great for the leaders of the Templars, and it was decided they should leave Tython. The Seeker was tasked with finding a suitable location for a new settlement and base of operations. After an extensive search Helska III was chosen, and it was here the Ordo Templaris first got their solid foothold in the galaxy.
I have learned that although the order took part in fighting for both sides during the Force Wars, they tried to focus most of their efforts on relocation and the defense of civilians caught in war zones relocating many to Helska III. In the grand scheme of things they played a very small role in the Force Wars, and only later made their stand on the frontline during the peak of the war against the Rakata Infinite Empire. I will go into further detail regarding their role in the Infinite Empire war in a later entry.
I have yet to uncover whatever remains on Helska III, but from what I understand it grew into a thriving metropolis and at one point housed at least 360,000 people of different species. It was also on Helska III the Architects great workshop was built were he conducted most of his research and construction projects. Unfortunately details surrounding this workshop still eludes me, I hope to uncover its secrets in the future.
In a galaxy ravaged by conflict and desperation I have learned the order was also on the verge of collapse. It seems however the force was with them as things changed drastically when Je’daii Tasha Ryo of the Je’daii order on Tython learned the secrets to weaponizing the Tho Yor.
The Tho Yor and their significance both to the order and to the galaxy will be the subject of my next entry.

Project “Memento” Entry #0006
I suppose it is Ancient history now, and forgotten by most, but the Tho Yor are the reason we are all here today. It is unfortunate that most of the secrets surrounding them now are lost, along with the respect and reverence they deserve.
The Tho Yor were eight great ships, they were shaped either like pyramids or octahedrons, I am unsure which is correct as they have been described as both.
It was these ships that long ago gathered the force sensitive creatures and species, our ancestors, from around the galaxy and brought them to the Tython system. It is unclear were they came from or who might have sent them, although it is suggested they were sentient themselves somehow. It was through the Tho Yor arrival as the event has since been named by several different species, that the passengers of these great ships were unified. These passengers formed the Je’daii order, the ancestral order of both the Jedi and the Sith that wage war today. In many ways it seems to me that the Force War never stopped after the initial split of the ancient Je’daii order. I find it strange how two groups with so much in common has not been able to find their way back to each other in all this time. But I digress.
The Tho Yor set down on Tython and lay dormant for centuries, very little was known about them before the Force War, and sadly, little is known now. I am privileged to have been granted an extensive insight into this subject by *there is a pause in the recording* someone.
It was during the end of the Force War it was discovered they could be weaponized, by channeling great amounts of force into them they were able to fire bright orange beams of light reaching far out into space. The Je’daii order is said to have used these do fend of the Infinite Empire when they laid siege to Tython. Supposedly there once existed, and I suppose there still may exists an ancient holocron that holds all the secrets of the Tho Yor. I am afraid however that time may have buried this holocron for good. The Kwa are mentioned in relation to the Tho Yor, but I am afraid by the decay of their supposedly great civilization has made seeking for information there would be futile.
There are still a great many mysteries surrounding the Tho Yor, and I must admit I am more than curious to learn more about them. Time might prove to be the biggest obstacle in any hope of recovering more information, but it is something to be mindful of. If it is true they were sentient machines, and held secrets powerful enough to unite force users under one banner, perhaps the secrets they hold are exactly what the future needs to survive? One thing I do know, the Tho Yor heavily inspired the Architect of the Templars, and much of his constructs are based on their technology.
I have recently learned that the people who first discovered the Tho Yor, and even named them are still around, or so I am lead to believe. I am uncertain if they are a subgroup of the Jedi, or a seperate group altogether, I just know the order of Dai Bendu is still whispered about today amongst the Jedi and I know they have played an instrumental role in the formation of both the Je’daii order and its descendant the modern Jedi order. In time I will have to look more into that subject.
Needless to say the Tho Yor are worth investigating, and the implication of their origins and ultimate purpose haunts me. We must not let history be so easily forgotten. I hope to do my part in sharing this information in this archive.

Project “Memento” Entry #0007
I wish to elaborate on what I know of the Ordo Templaris network, its purpose and potential. But before I can do that I need to explain its origin. I have mentioned in a previous entry that the ancient order didn’t take part in the Force war in any major capacity and that it was only when faced with the violent expanse of the Rakatan Infinite Empire they truly were at war for the first time. I have learned it was the threat of the Infinite Empire that prompted the Architect to start researching and constructing what would eventually end up being the Templars galactic network.
The science and power behind the network are both far beyond my understanding, what I know are only fragments, but I hope to learn more in the future.
From what I know the Seeker was sent out on a mission spanning several years to scout and map out planets, moons and locations strong in the force. It is unclear if his path was directed or requested by the Architect or if he was simply guided by the force in his quest. Regardless the objective was to find locations in every corner of the galaxy, the desired result as I understand it was to connect these locations creating a galaxy wide web of interconnected outposts.
I have yet to uncover the original scouting reports from this endeavor, although I suppose by now it would be very much out of date. Still it would have been interesting to see what notes the Seeker of the time took, how the world were described….
During this search I have noted that the Keeper seem to have moved a lot too. I have uncovered several detailed reports from both factions of the Force War in addition to well documented analyses of the Infinite Empires progression. It seems there was a sort of suspense, as if the order was holding its breath, unsure whether it would survive or not.
It is unclear when the networks construction started and when it was completed, but the closes I have found is a start date around 10,678 TYA and a completion date either around 10,822 TYA or 11,005 TYA. The more I have researched the subject of the ancient order the more I realize that time is a vague concept and not as much a subject to the linear streams we recognize it as.
The network is comprised of several outposts, stations and temples. They are designated pillars, nodes and beacons depending on their importance and function. The pillars are the core Temples of the highest importance. There are only a handful of them and they seem to have served a number of functions even outside the network. The beacons are the foundation and main construct of the network. It would not function without these outposts and they are key to the Ordo Templaris power. The nodes are minor stations, seemingly constructed more out of necessity to boost and maintain the network.
Many of you have already seen most of the network in the Hall of the Founders. It so happens that Dosuun is a pillar world, and therefore was of great importance to the ancient order. I believe it will turn out to be of great importance to us as well once we learn how to take advantage of it. When we activated the temple here, we set in motion more than we knew, a vast reactivation process across all the pillars nodes and beacons. Footage of the reactivation is already in our archives. The map shown with blips of red, green and white is a visual representation of the network and the status of pillars and beacons. This map will help us reach further than ever before and give us a tremendous advantage over our enemies.
Now, regarding the primary function of the network it is simple; Communications and transportation. Space is enormous, with great distances and spatial anomalies making long range communications difficult, so it was in the past and so it is now. The network was constructed to deal with that, and function much like a modern relay system. All the pillars, beacons and nodes are connected to each other allowing for a message to be sent from one point to another almost instantaneous. The architect saw satellites and space stations as vulnerable and therefore decided the best way to ensure stability and longevity of the network had to be massive structures built on solid ground. I believe this decision is the only that has ensured most of the network remains operational today.
The interface is simple to use, and detailed instructions will be available in our data banks to allow all Ordo members to use it in time.
Beyond communications the pillars also serve as transportation centres. I have yet to discover or understand how this is possible, and in my mind it defies all logic, yet I have witnessed for myself that they do indeed function. This is the greatest secret of the ancient order I yet wish to learn, the possibilities of such an ability is unfathomable. There are several locations we will need to secure and explore in order to unlock the full potential of the network.
A last note that needs to be mentioned about the network pillars is the fact that most of them are constructed as tactical operations centers with heavy defensive capabilities. As you have by now no doubt witnessed these defensive abilities are comprehensive and planet wide, originally intended to fend of the Infinite Empire and their fleets, the destructive power is aweinspiering.
I am unsure if the pillars all have the same specifications, but I would not be surprised if we encounter different defences on different worlds. The Dosuun facility has the ability to create an artificial enlarged and strengthened magnetic field around the planet turning the planet into a synthetic gravity well. As we have seen this is highly lethal to any fleet in orbit, and as I must admit a danger to all those on the surface. My belief is that this must have been intended as a last resort to deal the most amount of damage before retreating through the network. It is regrettable that it was used now, and I do not know if we are able to do it again, this requires further study.
At least the damage to the surface is limited by the size of the fleet in orbit and our numbers on the ground. I shutter at the thought what this might have done to a fully complemented fleet when each and every city contained millions of people.
There is much to still learn about the network, there are certain aspects I will talk more about in later entries.

Project “Memento” Entry #0008
In the aftermath of the Force War the Infinite Empire remained the predominant force in the galaxy and a very real threat to the Templars. During this time it seems the order was in a state of disarray, from what I can tell reports are spotty and lacking. I have learned that the Architect had a long absence during this period, I believe that may be the root cause for the state of the order. Towards the end of the Force War and some time after he had constructed some sort of vessel or craft based on Tho Yor technology. I do not know much about this vessel other than the fact that it does exist and have some amazing qualities. Apparently it was designed to remove the Architect from normal space and time. How and if it truly works I cannot say, although that there is something special about it I can testify to myself, as I have been inside it.
My belief is that the Architect and his vessel disappeared for a long time shortly after the Force War leaving the Templars and the order to fend for themselves. During this period the Infinite Empire continued to spread across the galaxy capturing more and more systems. Many of the world once considered safe havens and protected by the order and their crusaders slowly fell one by one to the Infinite Empire.
I have tried to learn the fate of the original founder of our order, but information has been scarce. I know the first to fall was the original Spear, she died in 10,703 TYA from wounds suffered during a skirmish against Rakata forces. I know this is when her apprentice took over her position having been groomed for it, but due to the poor reports from this period I do not know much beyond that.
To my best understanding the other founders must have perished some time after that. I know a records are signed by a new keeper in 10,789 TYA. When the transition happened and why I have yet to learn.
From what I can tell the Architect returned around 10,800 TYA. At this point all the founding Templars should be dead, but the Flame is referenced much later and neither the Seeker nor Pillar are mentioned at all around this time. They are written of later but not by name which makes it difficult to know what actually happened to them. One thing I find strange is the Network project started shortly before the Architects long absence. It seems it was ongoing during his absence but not prioritised. However although I have not been able to pinpoint a date of completion, it seems it was completed very suddenly at an unnatural pace. There are several construction reports and dates that seems to contradict each other. The same goes for the presence of the Architect, the movements during this period defies logic and explanation. I have tried extensively to get to the bottom of this and find the truth behind it but I am at a loss.
I imagine the frustration of the Templars and crusaders must have been great at the Architect upon his return. They were at the brink of annihilation by the Infinite Empire, and instead of returning with weapons and grand plans by all accounts the only concern the Architect had was the completion of his grand network.
I have come to learn that his plans however ran much deeper than getting galactic communications running. In fact he too had early recognized the danger the Rakata and their Infinite Empire posed. In fact it was his main reason for leaving, to find a way to combat them.
Very little is known about the Infinite empire, but certain things have survived through the centuries and scholars have some idea of how the empire spread, and eventually fell.
Although my information regarding this is lacking at best, I have come to believe the ancient order played a much larger role in bringing the Rakatan Infinite Empire down than history has recorded. It turns out the Network and its completion was just the first stage of the Architects grand scheme to end the Infinite Empire. He had also worked on a biological agent, a virus of some sort. This is where details start to dissipate, but I have gathered that the first use of the network was in fact distribution of this biological agent. The network provided an extremely rapid deployment and the coverage was close to galaxy wide, with the major gaps being around the core and certain outer rim territories.
Nothing has surfaced yet to confirm my suspicions other than what is already recorded in history and by comparing dates and events, but some time after the first mention of the orders virus a plague is recorded to have struck the Rakata. According to history this plague stripped the Rakata of their ability to use the force. Considering both their Empire and technology was built around the dark side of the force they lost the immense advantage they had held over the galaxy for centuries. This plague prompted the revolts around the occupied worlds that rapidly spread across the galaxy slowly pushing back the Rakata and their now crumbling Infinite Empire.
With a galaxy in revolt and Rakata technology slowly finding its way to scientists across the western galaxy the ancient Ordo Templaris once again grew in numbers. It was a time in which the whole galaxy let out a sigh of relief, although the Templars knew it was just a matter of time before the void left by the Infinite Empire would cause another major imbalance in the force and so they spent their time preparing. Although conflict was over for now, at least for the order, the long preparation for the future is considered the first crusade.
And I believe it is this definition of the first crusade is the determining factor in calling it the most crucial crusade. This is when the foundations of the Ordo Templaris was laid, and during the preparation period after the wars they truly thrived. As with the Corellian scientist the order was able to reverse engineer Rakata technology like the hyperdrive, and build their own ships.
They stood by and watched as the Republic was founded in 11,400 TYA, knowing in their hearts that this symbol of peace and stability would one day by the very thing they had to fight. To ensure a steady flow of information several crusaders and it seems at least the Shield and Keeper of the time infiltrated the newly founded republic, serving as officials.
I am unsure exactly when the first crusade ends, but I do know the second Crusade began with the First Alsakan Conflict in 19,435 TYA. This will be the subject of my next entry.

Entry by Ehoc. 32,823 TYA.
Project “Memento” Entry #0009
In 19,435 TYA the First Alsakan Conflict began, and it seems this conflict marks the start of the second Crusade of the Templars. By this time the Ordo Templaris had been around for nearly 9000 years, the last few thousand of which had been peaceful during the Republics great manifest period. The records of the order differ little from oficial historical records and paints a picture of complacency. Rituals and traditions had been ongoing although it is clear that by this time it was more of a habit or ceremonial. The crusaders and Templars of the time had never been faced with war or impending doom. The fall of the Infinite Empire had left a void, but not one filled by just another superpower, rather several smaller factions had formed, including the Republic. There was balance and had been for a long time building up to the Alsakan conflicts.
Troublesome is the fact that the great Architect is not mentioned but once in over 3000 years, and even then he is mentioned in a footnote. The Keeper of the time notes, and I quote “My master spoke of the Architect. Although he never met him he made sure I knew the importance of his call. That is why I went to him when I was summoned. No nightmare could ever prepare me for what I faced when I met with him… He will soon return again, he said the bright fire of Bogan is returning. I did not know what he meant until he showed me…” Shortly after this was recorded the Keeper seems to have changed again yet there is no mention of the previous Keepers death. Strange but not uncommon during this period of time where the most common cause of death was in fact old age.
Beyond an annual gathering on Helska III the crusaders and Templars hardly knew each other at this time. Many served as government officials on different worlds being raised in political families once started by their ancestors long ago. From what I can tell they should be commended for still staying true to their heritage and purpose. Even if many had forgotten or simply did not care about the order and its mission I cannot find a single entry of outright defiance towards it. It is in the years leading up to the First Alsakan conflict it seems activity was once again returning to the order, but for misguided reasons.
It is well known that there was and still is Tension between Coruscant and Alsakan but it was in 19,435 TYA this tension came to a breaking point. For years a cold economic war had already been brewing and now finally the battle for economic and political dominance resulted in an all out conflict. The Ordo Templaris saw this conflict as a potential threat and allegedly feared it might result in a strong imbalance leading the galaxy down a dark path similar to what it had undergone over 9000 years before. However as history has shown us, something the orders own archives cannot deny either was the fact that this conflict had nothing to do with the force. Political and economical dominance, that was the major factors, and the outcome would do little to shift the flow of the force no matter how it ended.
I believe it was merely fear and a slight corruption of greed that made the order act and initiate the second crusade. I suppose it is understandable that the years would reshape them in such a manner but their involvement in the conflict should never have been. The order fought both with and against both sides in this conflict like they had in any other conflict so far.
I believe the fact that the rivalry between Coruscant and Alsakan still exist today proves that nothing was gained during the second Crusade. The second Crusaders introduced very little to the order as a whole. The economic stability and power of the order was strengthened through their political and commercial influences, seeing several mining, production, assembly and distribution centres added to Templar domain. Beyond that only a handful of notable inventions and breakthroughs were made by the Second Crusade, some of these I will come back to in a later entry.
Just as with the first Crusade I am unsure of exactly when the second ended. My best estimate puts it around 23,800 TYA some time after the end of the fifth Alsakan Conflict. From what I can tell a new breed of Templars were in charge by then and saw that their involvement would make no real difference regarding the force.
Once again the order seems dormant for a very long time. There is not much worth mentioning from the orders records during this long dormant period of relative peace and stability. It not until 29,449 TYA there seems to be a drastic change in the order. A recorded voice remains from this year, I believe it to belong to the Keeper of the time, I have included it in this entry; *A distorted, broken and extremely distressed female voice is heard* “They never left! They never forgot! Our weakness has scorched us. They are here! The Flame is real, and the Architect lives….” *The record ends with a menacing sob.* This was the last entry ever made by this Keeper, and records state she succumbed to insanity and took her own life. I am unsure what exactly happened, but I believe it is connected with the return of the Architect and what I consider the first reformation of the Ordo Templaris. There is little doubt in my mind that this was all set in motion by the Second Great Schism that occured only one year later. For those who are unfamiliar with it, the Second Great Schism was essentially the beginning of the Hundred-Year Darkness which eventually lead to the formation of the Sith under the rule of Ajunta Pall.
All Sith who trained at the academy on Korriban much as I myself did long ago know the stories of Ajunta Pall and the great sith Lords well. It is a name that inspires both fear and admiration in any true Sith. What the history books do not teach is the involvement and influence the Ordo Templaris had during the Hundred-Year Darkness and the Dark Lords of the Sith that would follow. This will be the subject of my next entry.

Project “Memento” Entry #0010
The Second great Schism, a division of the Jedi order that would eventually lead to the creation of the Sith Empire we know today. It occured in 29,450 TYA when a group of Jedi declare their freedom from the Jedi Council. Dark Jedi as they were called who had experimented with alchemy and delving deep into the dark side of the force, using it to manipulate and permanently alter living beings. It was deeply frowned upon and eventually banned from use as the Jedi considered against the Will of the force. It is ironic however that it would be these practices and the knowledge gained from them that would eventually let the Jedi themselves perform healing and many of their other powers. It seems to me that their morality in this as so many other matters have been less than upstanding.
There was a great gathering on Helska III for the Ordo Templaris only a year later in 29,451 TYA. All Templars and Crusaders were called to the great halls of the order in their mountain stronghold. It is noted by Keeper Darana Pi’kinakura, a female humanoid of unknown species, that the Architect was responsible for the gathering, although he does not seem to have been present. This meeting of the entire order is the first time I have been able to pinpoint their numbers since the foundation of the order, 97,000 Crusaders 234 Templars and 5 Pillars were in attendance. Curiously the only two Pillars missing were the Flame and the Architect. I did not realize until this was revealed exactly how the order used to be structured.
It was the Keeper who had sent out the official summons, stating it was the will of the Architect that all must come forth, the order would be needed once again. She claimed her teacher, the previous Keeper had given her very specific instructions on how and when to gather the entire order, instructions handed to her by the Architect directly.
I have learned there were several members of the order who did not respond to the summons having grown too complacent and comfortable with their normal lives. I have yet to uncover the faith of these defectors although I can speculate it was not well received.
For what I understand the entire order heard the echoing call of the Architect booming throughout the temple. It is noted as follows; “We stood there for hours, I was unsure what to do or say. My instructions were clear, on the 127th day of this year call inn all the banners across the galaxy, the flame is awake. I did not understand any of it, and here was the order standing, waiting for something to happen. We discussed how to proceed, then we heard him. Speaking from everywhere. I will never forget that disconnected voice. He warned us, the darkness was coming. The force was in upheaval, great powers were forming. He called for the Pillars to unite with him as the founders once had. It had been so long, generations, how could we know what we were facing. The doors of the network opened, and there he was, flanked by what I can only describe as darkness made flesh. The Architect and the Flame. Never have I encountered such torrent of power as what I felt in the Flame. The doors closed and our fate was sealed. Once again the Pillars were gathered and the order whole.”
I am unsure why and how the Flame became a thing of legend and myth within the order, it seems that for generations there was only 5 of the Pillars present, never the Flame and never the Architect. They were always just out of reach, much like they are now in my research.
Regardless, the Architect warned the Spear, Shield, Pillar, Keeper and Seeker that the force was stirring. Waves transcending time and space creating ripples that could be felt everywhere. Bogan as he had called it was being fueled more and more by a rapidly growing group of Jedi. He urged that the order must prepare for a long and bloody war, these Jedi had to be defeated. Realizing that many of his constructs and inventions had not been forgotten the Architect reinstructed the Templars on how to take advantage of the Network and instructed on ancient rituals that would serve them well during the war to come.
Before all Crusaders and Templars the third Crusade was officially announced and the Spear and Shield took their place as the commanders of the order. All were sent out in preparation of war. Old lives had to be left behind and the members of the order withdrew to safe planets, removing themselves from the eyes of the galaxy. For the first time special symbols were introduced for each of the Pillars, I have included visuals in my record. These were used to identify a location or group placed under the care of one of the Pillars, the commanding Templaris. Only now do I understand some of the relics I have recovered, and what their markings symbolice. I expect us to find more of these in the future.
29,451 TYA also marked the official dawn of the Duunas civilization on Dosuun. They settled there after leaving the core worlds. I have not been able to trace back their origin planet, but most likely it is connected to the old Gree empire and network of gateways just like Tython and so many of the core worlds. It surprised me to learn the Order was on Dosun before the Duunas, although they only had two structures on the planet, they were the ones to welcome and aid the Duunas people. In time I understand why as the relationship with the Duunas allowed them a certain level of anonymity. With large cities forming their temples would not stand out very much. I have also discovered that Dosun was a world dominated by the Keeper bearing his or her mark in official records of the order. In general locations marked by the keeper represent knowledge, wisdom and learning. It was the keeper that nurtured the Duunas civilization to thrive and become an industrial giant. By exchanging information and knowledge the Duunas became robotics experts with a deeper spiritual understanding. This somewhat symbiotic relationship lasted for hundreds of years, and it was not until the last Crusade everything was destroyed.
29,453 TYA marks the start of the Hundred-Year Darkness. The war that followed the Second Great Schism. The Jedi were many at this time, and I have often speculated as to how the rise of the Dark jedi would cause an imbalance. On the surface I would have judge it as quite the opposite, the rise of the Dark Jedi would help maintain balance. But the surface is rarely representative of the whole, and I understand now why it was so important for the Templars to help crush the Dark Jedi. It is my understanding that even though it is now known as the Hundred-Year Darkness the war did in fact last somewhat longer in truth.
Most commonly it is known that the war ended with the Battle of Crobos, a battle that has become just as important to the order as the rest of the galaxy. I have learned Victory was achieved after an orbital bombardment took out most of the Dark Jedi and broke their momentum. I have also learned the Order had several Crusaders and Templars involved in the conflict, but there are only two that stand out from the rest. One a Crusader who would later become the Pillar of the order named Xioxi, the second was Keeper Darana Pi’kinakura, one of the Pillars and Templaris that started the reformation of the Ordo.
Xioxi was extremely proficient with the force, I am uncertain what species he belongs to as they seem rare, but he was placed within the ranks of the Dark Jedi to aid Ajunta Pall and the other masters. His affinity with the force allowed him to blend in with the Dark side users as he could mask his true balance. It was his ability to wield the force that allowed him to blind the Dark Jedi from forseeing the Orbital bombardment that would eventually lead to their demise. Working with the Keeper they were supposed to leave the planet well before the bombardment would start. The Keeper however had fallen to the seduction of the Dark side, she had become enthralled with the former Jedi Knight Karness Muur and refused to return to the order. During a confrontation with Xioxi she almost killed the Crusader, but he escaped just in time to avoid the rain of light as the Jedi fleet fired on the planet.
It is written much later that the Keeper shared all her secrets with Karness Muur, and it is speculated that many of his incredible powers can be traced back to the Templars and the ancient knowledge possessed by the Architect. Muur has since been well known for his sithspawn and extreme powers, he was able to prolong the life of his spirit for thousand of years, a secret only a handful of individuals have ever possessed….
Thought the war against the Dark Jedi was won, and they were forced into exile the Templars knew that this was not the end of war for them, and an era of infiltration and exploration began.
The exiled Dark Jedi claimed Ziost and Korriban, enslaving the Sith people founding the Sith Empire. As we know today the galaxy has not truly been at peace or balance ever since. Even as the Sith were building their empire the Dark side of the force spread, but no more than the light which was imposed by the Jedi. Their blind devotion the Ashlan has caused more pain and suffering than the Jedi will ever know. I will elaborate in a later entry.

Project “Memento” Entry #0011
Another subject that should be mentioned is the rise of the Mandalorians. Just as the Hundred-Year Darkness began, in another part of the galaxy Taung Mandalore the First led his followers from the planet Roon to a new world which we now know as Mandalore, renamed in the honor of Taung. The warrior society that followed have since grown infamous because of their excellence in combat and their ruthless nature. Although much can be said about Mandalorians, they have carved their place in the galaxy, it was never handed to them.
I believe the rise of the mandalorians was another shift in the force that tied directly inn with the Dark Jedi that broke away from the Jedi order during the same period in history making the imbalance of the force even greater and thus the need for the Templars intervention even more important. I cannot claim Mandalorians are evil, but it occurs to me that their society is built upon destruction and dominance, both subjects to the dark side. It would surprise me if they were not somewhat strengthened by the Dark side of the force, perhaps as conduits more susceptible to its influence and power allowing them to subconsciously tap into its potential.
Mandalorian history is long and proud, and more than a few times they have played a crucial role in the fate of the galaxy. I have uncovered several records of Templar skirmishes against Mandalorians forces, at it seems for a long time the order underestimated their opponent, resulting in heavy casualties. Although minor skirmishes occur several times through the time following the Second Great Schism and the hundred years that followed during the Hundred-Year darkness war, it was not until almost 200 years later that a large conflict between the Templars and the Mandalorians took place, in the Demetras Sector.
The Ordo Templaris had worked for many years to establish a good relationship with the Fenelar species. They had exchanged knowledge, and it was the Fenelar who co-developed and produced most of the Templar fleet. An industrialised species with great shipyards that could even produce high end dreadnaughts and the first to utilize the material know as Phrik, a highly energy resistant material. Their unique production capabilities made them excellent allies for the order, so it is understandable that the Templars would react when the Mandalorians attacked the Fenelar and their homeworld Fenel. The campaign on Fenel was the first major conflict between the Templars and the Mandalorians, and resulted in a catastrophic loss for the order.
From what I can tell this was the last time the Mandalorians were underestimated by the order. Their failure to accurately predict the threat of the Mandalorians had resulted in the loss of thousands of Crusaders and Templars, as well as the total extinction of the Fenelar species. The Mandalorians claimed the Fenelar technology and their shipyards which would go on to produce the majority of their fleet used during the ensuing wars with the Republic. The Kandosii-class Dreadnaught has become a ship of legends to the Mandalorians, though ancient today it was once the pride of their fleet, named from the mando’a word meaning “Ruthless.”
Although Mandalorians and the Ordo Templaris have fought many times through history I can find no evidence that they have ever been outright enemies. Rather they have shared a mutual respect both on the battlefield and in peace. To be on opposite sides of a conflict does not require hatred to be present, and a foe hard to defeat is a foe worth respecting. Honor has ensured a certain level of stability and predictability, a status I hope we can rebuild and maintain with the Mandalorians once again. Sadly just as our order got more and more tainted towards the end of the last crusade, the Mandalorians have suffered a similar degradation. What the future holds for our two societies remains to be seen.

Project “Memento” Entry #0012
The Ordo Templaris remained very much in the background and hidden for a few hundred years following the Hundred-Year Darkness. As I have mentioned it was during this period they had a few encounters with the mandalorians, but overall the Order remained rather passive. Once again their focus turned to the network and the elaborate plans of the Architect.
The network had been more or less dormant for many years as the need for it had diminished in the millenia before the Second Great Schism. Following the war with the Dark Jedi however the importance of this network had become apparent, and efforts were made to maintain and expand it. I have learned that it was during these years leading up to the Great Hyperspace War that started in 31,453 TYA the existence of the “Cradles” was first revealed to the Templars of the time. Part of the original design of the Architect the Cradles were linked to the network and served different but very specific purposes. Numbering seven in total they were designated “The Cradle of Truth”, “The Cradle Of Bogan”, “The Cradle of Ashlan”, “The Cradle of Life”, “The Cradle of Death”, “The Cradle of Lies” and “The Cradle of Eternity.”
For several millennia these Cradles had been forgotten and left to themselves, only tended by the Architect in seclusion and only remotely. No record exists of their construction or foundation, and it is only ever estimated that they must have been founded some time during the first Crusade, most likely parallel to the construction of the network. The exact location of these Cradles are as of yet unknown, thought this does not mean they are lost or inaccessible. One of the reasons the location is unknown is the fact that the only way to get to them is through a Pillar world using the Network. I realise that originally they must have been accessed by way of space travel, but it seems records of the charts used have purposely been destroyed. To make matters worse all of the old tech containing Seeker logs and locations were protected by heavy encryptions and scanners. These would scan for a known and authorised biosignature and revert into a protected mode if ever used by someone unauthorised. I only recently learned about this feature as I have obtained three such devices. They are design in a elegant fashion with a system that never lets the user know he or she has no access. It will show a map with Templar locations, but they will be false. The only thing they lead to are hazardous locations deemed extremely dangerous to all forms of life by a Seeker. Effectively following these maps would lead the user to their death without them ever realizing that they were being mislead. I am glad I never had a chance to fall into one of these traps.
Having visited one of these locations myself I know for a fact they are real. I have been to the Cradle of Truth, and even though I have been there I could not say where it is. What I do know however is its purpose. The Cradle of Truth was constructed to be the centralized main Archives of the order. It truly is a marvel to behold, and puts the Archives on Coruscant to shame. There are thousands of scrolls, books, artifact and millions of data entries on vast geothermal powered computers. Knowledge collected over centuries and maintained by a small collective known as the Scribes. Thought they are now gone, the information they guarded for so long remains.
The Scribes were a part of the order as much as any other Crusader or Templar, and seems to have worked closely with the Keepers and Seekers. With the Cradles forgotten for so long I have yet to uncover exactly how information and items were stored and catalogued there, but I believe the Network must have been used. I believe the Scribes must have performed their duties out of tradition, unaware of exactly what they were doing. There are androids with a sophisticated VI in the Cradle, which could explain how it has been updated but this is merely speculation.
Ironically named the Cradle of Lies is in fact also an Archive. It was also constructed as a center for learning. The details surrounding it are very vague, and it seems it was never used for its intended purpose. I hope to one day discover it and see for myself what exactly it contains, and why it was named the Cradle of Lies, my source material does not explain this in any detail. The only thing I have determined is that the Cradle of Truth and the Cradle of Lies are connected in some way, and are both related to knowledge and understanding. These two seem to be the only two connected in such a manner. In the years leading up to the Great Hyperspace War they were both frequently used after their rediscovery by Keeper Namori T’danal. Working on mapping the Network for an extended report for the Templar archives she managed to find the link that allowed access to all the available Cradles.
Though the usage of the Network is complicated and unstable I am certain we will be able to make use of it in the future. Through it we should be able to access many planets and locations including several of the Cradles. Not all are available through the network however, like the Cradle of Eternity, as I will explain in my next entry.

Project “Memento” Entry #0013
The Cradle of Eternity. Location of what I have come to know as Project Eternity. This is one of the Cradles currently unreachable by the Templar network. It is connected to the network, but all indications are that something must have gone wrong in the Cradle itself as there is no response from it. I have tried in vain to reach it, but the access point must be destroyed.
From what I understand this Cradle was used for a long term study and experimenting on prolonging organic life. It was postulated that life in all organic matter could be extended to the extreme under the right circumstance by combining medical science and the force.
This Idea is far from original, longevity is sought by many since the dawn of time, and will continue to be attractive until the end of time. Sith have been some of the more fierce pursuers of this, and have sacrificed a lot to achieve immortality in one form or another.
From what I understand immortality was never the object of project Eternity, rather slowing down the aging process. Though many species share a similar lifespan there are a few excepsionell few species that have an extremely long life. It was the belief of the Architect that such qualities could be harnessed and transferred to others with enough understanding. In contrast to his own method of beating time, he wanted to devise a way for the orders Crusaders and Templars to have extremely long lives with no physical or mental cost.
During the First crusade the most talented scientists and strongest sages were sent to the Cradle of Eternity to begin their studies. Far removed from the rest of the galaxy they would be sheltered from contamination and outside disturbances. With them a number of animals, insects and bacteria were brought to the Cradle, specimen known to have natural long lifespans. Reports were made monthly back to the Templars at first, then only to the Architect every year and eventually the reports stop. Before the Cradle fell to silence they had made great breakthroughs, and had already been able to extend an average humanoid lifespan by a few years. The last report suggested a major experiment was to take place, infusing an artificially created DNA strand into one of the Human Crusaders stationed there. It was believed it would grant the Crusader at least a double lifespan and increased endurance. If successful the treatment would be available to distribute to all of the orders members, as they claimed only minor adjustments would have to be made for each individual species.
The assumption is that something went wrong during the experiment or shortly after as no further reports were ever made. In addition the Cradle went dark in the network some time after the experiment was to take place and although it had been off-line before this time it never came back, leading to the belief that something was permanently destroyed. The fate of the project and people involved is unknown, but the scientific value of this location makes it an important target for the order. I mentioned the location is unknown, however there might be a place to find the location, the physical location of potentially all of the Cradles.
From what I have uncovered there is an old orbital station deep into the unknown regions, a sanctuary and home of the second seeker of the order. Based on early records of the order I have learned that the very first seekers used paper for their reports and maps. These notes were handed down from Seeker to Seeker eventually making their way to the Archives. Though all official documents regarding the Cradle locations were destroyed, supposedly there was a notebook that never found its way to the Archives. A personal journey-log by the Second seeker. It is referenced by his descendant, but appears to never have been claimed.
I believe this might still exist today, IF the orbital station has survived the test of time, from what I know it was seldom used by Seekers in the second crusade and never by any seeker since. Exploring this station might prove beneficial. If it can lead to the Cradles I believe it is worth looking into. The Cradle of Life will be the subject of my next entry.

Project “Memento” Entry #0014
The Cradle of Life. From what I understand a workshop and breeding facility. This location was dedicated to a host of different creatures, all subject to selective breeding and mutation. The idea was to create the perfect work and combat companions for the order by manipulating the evolution of different species. This is where eventually the Wrexcats, Xi-Birds, Namatsu, Gree-stalkers, Ulgo and other creatures would be created. I cannot find any evidence this location was ever visited by anyone but the Architect himself, although there are references to certain Crusaders and Templars helping him with a few projects during the early days of the Order.
The major focus was to create animals and creatures that could both serve the order and thrive on their own in the wild. Much like sleeper agents they were made to respond to certain cues when encountered in the wild, instantly subjugating them. In addition to this they were made to live in synergy with the force, relying on it as much as the order did. It was believed that this common tie to the force would allow for better understanding and a certain level of communication between the Templars and the beasts.
I once pursued this Cradle, trying to find its location using one of the Seeker devices, but as I now know, all it did was lead me astray. With my new knowledge of the network I hope to establish a connection to the Cradle of Life. If it is filled with beasts that would follow our directions, that would be an extreme asset for us. However it has been unattended for a great many years, and I have been warned that it may contain nothing but chaos and death, something to be mindful of.
I know little more of the Cradle of Life, like the others it was forgotten for a long period, and all the cradles are shrouded in mystery. Yet there is one that stand out, the Cradle of Bogan, no location connected to the order is shrouded in more mystery save for perhaps the Architect himself. The Cradle of Bogan will be the subject of my next entry.

The Cradle of Bogan. A shrine dedicated to the study and understanding of the Dark side of the force. What little I know of this location is troubling and vague at best. Initially it was visited by a few of the orders most willstrong individuals, people capable of resisting the temptation of the dark side. Reports around this location is spotty at best, but from what I gather it was constructed on a place of a great dark side concentration.
This Cradle is another currently unreachable from the Network, although I have learned that connection to this Cradle was done on purpose. It was deemed too dangerous by the first Order as all who ventured there came back broken by insanity.
At some point the location of this Cradle must have been uncovered, as it is referenced during both the third and last Crusade. The references give little to explain what to actually expect at this location however. During the third Crusade a small group of Templars went there to learn its secrets, they never returned according to the Keeper at the time. The last sign of life was a video recording of a bloodied Templar speaking an unknown language, his body was later recovered when the expedition ship was located floating adrift i9n space far from anything. The body was described as twisted, almost turned inside out seemingly torn apart from the inside.
The last reference of the Cradle of Bogan is from the fourth and last Crusade. Desperate to harness even more of the Dark side the misguided Kings of the time sent out two of their strongest to rediscover the Cradle in order to harness its powers and secrets. Neither of them returned without a trace. It is not specifically noted that they even ever found the Cradle, but they believed they were close. Something prevented them from ever reporting back a location.
Something tells me this Cradle should be left alone, yet as it is part of the orders history I can’t help but feel the itch of curiosity. It may be best to let it stay in the past, and keep it from the Sith. Equally as dangerous but in a very different way is the Cradle of Ashlan, which will be the subject of my next entry.

Project “Memento” Entry #0016
The Cradle of Ashlan. I have previously mentioned that the Cradle of Ashlan was equally as dangerous as the Cradle of Bogan. To understand why, one must first understand the force itself. The light and the Dark, they are both just two sides of a coin, different but equal and nothing without the other. The light side of the force has always been associated with the Jedi, with peace and serenity. If this was true however, the Jedi would have been defeated by the Sith a long time ago. In fact the Light side of the force is a spring of immense power just as the dark side, and can cause tremendous destruction. It is also tempting, causing a corruption in its own unique way. Unlike the Dark side it is not fueled by emotions, rather serenity and peace. This is why mastering it is so much harder than mastering the Dark side, it is a contradiction to most sentient species natural instincts.
It is because of this increased level of difficulty the light side is often mistaken as weaker, or less destructive than the dark side. From what i have uncovered, it seems the Cradle of Ashlan was founded on a place with a strong light side concentration. Those who went there to study and understand it are described as extremely peaceful and relaxed. All accounts suggest those who spent considerable time there slowly started showing symptoms of addiction, growing desperate to return at shorter intervals. Surrendering to Ashlan gives a euphoric sensation of bliss, and in this way can corrupt an individual by making the longing for more unbearable.
I have learned that the Cradle was originally used for the study and understanding of the light and how to balance it. Severe restrictions on how long to stay at the Cradle and when allowed to enter it was in place, and it seems for the better part of the first Crusade when it was in use it was very beneficial to the Templars. In the third Crusade however, when it was rediscovered, no such restrictions were put in place. The purpose for it had also changed. With the looming darkness and turmoil in the galaxy the Templars of the third crusade focused on the destructive ways of the force. They used the Cradle seeking powers that would directly combat the Dark side, hoping for any advantage by using the powers of the light. It did not yield the desired results as those sent there to uncover the secrets of the force became too wrapped up in the delight of the light side, they became apathetic.
Just as so many of the Cradles had been abandoned so was the Cradle of Ashlan, though the Third Crusaders had turned more back to the roots of the order, desperation still drove them, and balance through study was no longer a focus they felt they could afford. The teams sent to investigate the Cradle were abandoned, and no more was ever sent.
Interested in learning as much as possible, and gaining any advantage available the Templars of the third Crusade also set out to find the Cradle of Death. I have found no record of them ever succeeding, and it is my belief it has not been used since the first Crusade. I will elaborate more in my next entry.

Project “Memento” Entry #0016
The Cradle of Death. Although it may sound ominous I have come to understand that the Cradle of Death was not intended for anything but the study of Death and the prospect of an afterlife. Simply put the Templars like so many Jedi and Sith alike, had a special interest in what happens to an individual after death. It is common knowledge that there is a possibility for something more, at least through rituals, but it seems the order wished to really delve into the subject looking at both mythical and scientific possibilities.
From what I can tell the Cradle of Death was the most used and the longest in service save for the Cradle of Truth. During the First Crusade there was a heavy scientific focus and mostly on one's soul or spirit. They wanted to learn what a spirit was composed of and if it had a lifespan. It seems the first hypothesis was that a spirit could never be destroyed, only merge or change. They believed that the spirits were a part of the force, and thus binding all living things together. There are no conclusive decisions made on the subjects and it seems by the time of the Second Crusade interest in the subject had dwindled and eventually research stopped altogether.
In the Third Crusade upon the rediscovery of the Cradle, they focused more on the spiritual side of study. I have found disturbing reports of sentient test subjects in an effort to capture the essence of a spirit. I believe the Templars of the third Crusade wished to find ways of capturing and trapping spirits, most likely in an effort to forever lock away the Sith to ensure their spirits would never return.
It is unclear exactly what equipment or relics may be found in the Cradle. I am confident there must be several useful devices that would suit further studies in the field. We know the late Emperor of the Sith had mastered certain techniques in preserving his spirit but the exact nature is unknown. If it is possible to retrieve the ancient knowledge on the subject, and further it even more, I believe it is an endeavor worth looking into.

Project “Memento” Entry #0017
I want to make a brief entry regarding the Ordo Templaris fleet. The subject of the orders military capabilities and assets have been subject to much change throughout history, at its peak numbering ships in the thousands. I have come to learn that it was a slow going endeavour at first, much due to the lack of technology and construction capabilities. During the expansion era they fleet power picked up and reached a height during the dawn of the Republic when several Crusaders and Templars held key position in politics and trade.
At the start of the third Crusade it seems most of the assets available where lost replaced by a heavy reliance on the Network. It was however during the third Crusade several high tech vessels were made and the cooperation between the Order and several different cultures gave birth to some amazing designs. The order had raw resources available and had a decent trade network established, but lacked manpower to do the direct labour associated with construction.
The reliance and cooperation to others was much of the reason the order was dragged into conflict with the Mandalorians, having no direct conflict with them.
It seems many of the ships made during the third Crusade were made for specific purposes. There are several references to secretly developed ships made for the Seeker of the time, and for the both the Spear and Shield. What I find interesting is the fact that not all of these are marked as destroyed or lost. There are a few locations that could or at least should contain a spaceport or hangar, and it would be beneficial for us to explore these. If there is a chance we can salvage something or even gain a few ships that would be greatly beneficial.
The details regarding the period between the third and the last crusade are unclear, but what I do know is that the last Crusaders utilized very few of the old Templar ships. They made their own, and made them simple and cheap in order to produce many fast. Used for both war and law enforcement the last crusade fleet was nothing like the fleets of old. There is one name, a ship I know the last Crusaders sought, the Sangreal. From what I can tell this was a commandship and the flagship of the order. Said to boast powerful weapons and a large hangar capacity with the very latest of technology it provided support in the most serious conflicts. Supposedly it even had a connection to the network, although I have found no evidence to support this claim. The Sangreal was reported lost during the later stages of the third Crusade. I have been unable to find any references to how or why it was lost. From what I can tell it just never came back from a deep space mission, the nature of which has since been lost. Efforts were made to locate it but no debri or trace has been found.
I cannot help but wonder if the Sangreal might be able to trace by the network somehow, if it was connected then there might be a possibility. From what I can tell the last crusade was unaware of the ship or simply did not care about it which means that for many years now no one has ever tried to claim it. The unknown regions are dangerous, and the very edges of the galaxy even more so, strange anomalies and unexplained phenomena plague these regions making any exploration extremely hazardous. The order constructed at least a handful of space station of varying size, and my hope is that one of these might contain clues or insight on how to prepare for what the unknown regions might hold. After all the unknown regions were not quite as unknown in the past...

The orders weaponry and arsenal is another subject that has changed much over the years. In the early days swords, spears, quarterstaffs and other traditional melee weapons were the preferred weapons of choice. In combination with a heavy reliance on the force the first Crusaders saw no need for energy or projectile weapons. There are no signs they cared much for robotics or machinery either, perhaps with the exception of the Architect. They did rely on animals and different beasts of the wild, taming them and using them both for labour and in combat. This seems to have been a tradition until the last crusade when this practice abruptly stopped.
As the galaxy evolved so did the order and their weapons. In the second crusade there was a stronger focus on numbers, and non force users were enlisted. With them came the need for guns and rifles, and although they were considered a part of the order it seems they served more as canon fodder than anything else, not having the respect of the by then more wealthy and powerful force users. I am unsure when the standing army and fleet of the second order was finally disbanded but there is a curious change in attitude and tactics by the time the third Crusade was finally launched.
During the turmoil of the Hundred-Year Darkness and the time that followed the order had embraced the lightsabers, constantly trying to improve and perfect them. Even with their lightsabers the ancient blades and weapons of the first order was highly prized and sought after. These weapons had been constructed using the raw power of the force, bending the materials to their will. It was also during the third Crusade a high focus was shifted to blasters and mechanics. For the first time in the orders history non-force users are registered as both Templars, but also Pillars. At one point it seems the Spear, Keeper and Pillar were all non-force users. The force dwells in all living things, and I believe it was by this time they finally learned that one's ability to wield the force was not mirrored necessarily by one's strength or connection to it. Many of the greatest leaders throughout history has had a very strong connection to the force, without the ability to bend it or command it to their will.
This change in the hierarchy of the order marked a massive shift in traditions, and eventually lead to a time of respect and understanding. Much of this survived in the final Crusade as well, although certain aspects were changed to suit the two leaders of the time.
With this shift, there was also a new focus on creating high tech weapons and ordnance. I believe this is when the Duunas people truly became involved with the order. Their production and research capabilities provided the order with much needed supplies.
The Duunas were not the only species the order dealt with when it came to weapons, and I have found some references to different production and research facilities. There is but one that sticks out however. A facility deep into the unknown regions, were a species I have yet to identify and the Templars of the order supposedly co developed weapons using both science and engineering, and the force itself. It seems this work was strictly secret, and therefore the details are vague. I am unsure what to even imagine, but any traditional weapon infused or otherwise influenced by the force must surely be extremely dangerous.
I know the last Crusaders tried to locate this facility without any luck. It seems to me that much of the old order were shrouded to the last Crusaders, hidden and just out of reach. I can only speculate but it seems there might be a reason for this, after all, by the end they were all too corrupt to know how far they had fallen, leading them into destruction. But I digress, the last Crusade will be explained in a later entry.

The Templars have always considered history important. Gathering and archiving events and objects so that the future may avoid the mistakes of the past. There are many artifacts and relics gathered in the Cradle of Truth, some holding knowledge and others objects made to memorate events. The art of infusing objects with the Force, and the art of creating holocrons have diminished to a fragment of what it once was. I hope to restore our ability to create such marvels of engineering, by using lessons the ancient Templars before us can share. Some of you have already encountered old Templar artifacts, and witnessed first hand the powers they contain.
Artifact is a curious term however, after all at one point it was just an object, a thing to use for the here and now. The only thing which makes it an artifact is time, and that is why my research around the Artifacts of the order has been difficult. A keeper archiving information would not refer to something newly made as an artifact but rather the name of the object. There are many names that could be items or people or locations and I find it difficult to separate them at times.
For example during the First crusade several swords, rings and garments were made using the force, but they are not considered special, it was just what they did, it was just fact. Whilst later during the Third Crusade many of the objects from the first seven are considered artifacts and strange meaning some of the knowledge must have been lost during the long and eventless second Crusade. At the same time I know of at least 9 small polyhedrons made during the third crusade, learning devices that are considered just that, tools for learning. These are objects that we today will call Artifacts and rever them with awe at their knowledge and intricacy, yet many years ago it was considered little more than a guide for a child.
Gaining access to these artifacts will help us in better understanding the knowledge that has been lost for so long, dead both to the Sith and the Jedi. If we can harness this like those before us, we would truly gain the power and strength the order needs to survive in this galaxy. A curious thing I have learned regarding many of the artifacts from the third and the last crusade is how they were constructed to operate both with and without the force. A traditional holocron for example is made with the force, and normally needs a force user to operate properly. This is not the case in many of the orders artifacts. Several, as I understand it, are even constructed by non-force users. Using special nano-tools on massive workstations it seems there is a way to create a stable matrix for long term storage and personal imprint, much like a modern holo recorder. The rediscovery of this method could change everything for us, and ensure information survives to the next generation.
I would like to state the importance of passing on our knowledge to those who will come after us. The order was broken, the last crusade shattered the continuity of the Templars, and so we find ourselves in the position the original Templars worked so hard to avoid. We are relearning everything, and wander the orders history like it is a maze. To think about all the information that has been lost and forgotten is a continuous nightmare that haunt me. But we are relearning, and we will continue to do so and in so doing we will rise above the Sith and the Jedi, and everyone else to ignorant to understand the needs of the galaxy far outweigh the personal differences that split those who once were united. I have mentioned it before, the Jedi and the Sith, they share their past, and were once one, how they never found back is a wonder I will never understand. One thing remains a fact, they are both blinded by each other, and refuse to see the galaxy and the force as a whole. It is a mistake we must not make ourselves..
