The Illusion Forest
A triangle of forest in the east of Astrya, the Illusion Forest is an area infamous for it's strange, unwieldy nature; people report strange, unexplainable occurrences like villages within it that seem to not exist, reports of strangers joining travelling parties and then suddenly vanishing, letters being received that tell of future events that have not yet come to pass and being sent using information that no one could have known.
Supposedly no sapient beings live in the forest, but reports of towns found, stayed in, within the bounds of the woods cause people to question whether there are or not. Some say ghosts and their towns haunt the forests, others say the spirits of the gods spurned by the people of Astrya, switching in and out of existence or even between dimensions in order to haunt the people who forgot them.
A popular story about the forest is that of the Mermaid Lake hidden within, although maps and other official documents say no such lake exists.
Geography
The forest is somewhat triangularly shaped, with a dirt path leading through it. Those who travel there are warned never to stray from the path, and the stories from those who do are mystical and strange.
Some speak of a Lake in the centre of the forest holding Mermaids, some speak of towns that exist some moments and not the others, some speak of a cliff face so sudden travelers almost topple over the sides. The actual geography of the forests are therefore very sparsely known, with many, many accounts that conflict and contrast on many levels and points.
Natural Resources
No one dares harvest resources from this forest; those who do have disappeared, gone missing, and those who haven't have lived in fear of doing so- the mystery of the forest causes fear in many.
