The Phosanan Coup
The Phosanan Coup took place in 854PS and resulted in the change of regime from The Kingdom of Phosana to The Independent Merchant Nation of Phosana.
The coup was arranged by Wentworth Lytton and T'Zellyn Hightower, the former a minor noble looking to advance his own power, and the latter a wealthy business owner who left his home of Lor Anoch in search of riches.
The two men had convinced the dwarvern cities of southern Phosana, especially Brasmana, that if they provided them with an army, they would be welcomed in to the new nation and finally have a say in the nation that had been oppressing them for centuries beforehand. With the dwarvern armies along with several mercenary bands hired by Hightower, the capital was stormed along with the castle of Voyager's Point, and the incumbent King and Queen were thrown from the parapets.
Many in the country has begun to hate the royal family, and so much of the populace was initially happy with the change. Due the public support and the swift deaths of the royal family, the Royal Legion stood down and was rebranded as The Phosanan Might.
