Jacob Bainsbridge

Jacob Bainsbridge is a playwright and revolutionary from Kaviri in the The Independent Merchant Nation of Phosana.
Born in 754 PS in Kaviri as the bastard son of a wealthy merchant and a serving woman. His father, living in the cities Upper Town, lived in a grand manor with his wife and children, Jacob's mother was one of the many maids in this manor, and was seduced by the wealth and charm of the lord. Once their affair reached the point of pregnancy, Jacob's mother was expelled from the house and thrown into the streets to avoid a scandal for the already married man.
Jacob was born a few months later, homeless and poor from the moment he came into the world. His mother would eventually find work in a factory now she was able to work again. The pair eventually found a small hovel to rent and life was easier for a while. At the age of ten however, Jacob's mother was struck ill, a disease she had picked up from the hard work and toxic fumes, she would pass on months later, and Jacob would be homeless again.
Jacob lived on the streets for a few months, bouncing in and out of orphanages, until he was selected for a charity initiative run by the new High Council of Phosana. The initiative was solely for propaganda purposes but that mattered little to Jacob, who happily accepted a full scholarship to The Dinmalas Institute, gaining free education along with room and board.
Jacob would excel in his education, gaining an great understanding and passion for literature and magic. Jacob would use his skills to write plays, many of which satirical that criticised or humiliated the current government and their treatment of their citizens. These plays made Jacob extremely rich, famous, and controversial, many in the upper district of the city wondering who this young upstart could be.
Jacob would eventually settle in Upper Town, mixing with the higher society patrons who funded his work, whether because they didn't understand he was mocking them, or because they wished to ride his famous coattails. He would eventually buy out the home of his father, who over the last two and a bit decades had accrued large gambling debts from a low town loan shark. With his connections among the general populace, Jacob discovered this and bought the loan, then using it to expel his father from his ancestral home, and rename it Bainsbridge Manor.
Throughout his rise to stardom and riches, Jacob remained close to those less fortunate in the city, and was incredibly popular there due to his plays criticizing those in power. Eventually he would be contacted by the current incarnation of The Phosanan Resistance, and asked for his assistance and funding. Jacob took to the offer immediately, primarily helping them fight the propaganda of Minister Teret Shardhorn with his own plays and sending them funds to help them buy arms and equipment.
Jacob managed to keep his involvement under the radar for the many years, with the whispers of his rebel nature only adding to his mystique. However, in early 765 PS, his manor was raided and the council had had enough of his near decade of anti-government sentiment, and he was officially declared a traitor. Needing to lay low and get out of the city for a few weeks until the search cooled over, Jacob was requested to attend the war council of Aarto Bearfist in order to allow the city's rebels to liaise with the other disparate groups.
After the council, Jacob would lead The Abnormals back into Kaviri where they would find a public demonstration run by the Lord of Industry T'Zellyn Hightower. Much to the shock of Jacob and the crowd, the Abnormals managed to defeat and kill Hightower before he could go ahead with his executions, sealing the tyrant's fate and providing a massive moral boost for the resistance.
