Timekeeping in Orcerta

Structure of the Year

A year in Orcerta is layed out in accordance to the Elders and represents the cycle of life. As such, the year consists of 10 month and begins with the one designated to Narisis, the eldest of nature and life, and ends with the month designated to Monegra, the eldest of death and soul.
While the actual length of seasons can differ, a rule of thumb is that a year starts with the Muta, a one month long mid-season marked my mild temperatures. The Aesta reaches from the second to fifth month and brings hot and dry weather to the land. The end gives rise to another, one month long, Muta which then gives rise to the Hie, a season coined by cold and damp weather.

Structure of the Month

Each month is named after one of the Elders and consists of four weeks.
