High Elves

High elves are a subgroup of elves. They are centered in the far north of the continent, north east of Hillsburg, around the Elven River and Glassy Lake. They have lived there for time immemorial, surviving the ice ages through magic and adapting to life in the ice. They led the war against the drow after the ice ages, and remained in the far north, maintaining a vast domain there. They have been reduced through the millennia, buy war and other attritions, but remain poewrful in the area.
Individual high elves live throughout the world. Some leave their homeland to travel, see the world, interact with other peoples; some have always been abroad. However, they tend to see themselves as only wandering - they all think they will return some day, no matter what their personal history.
