Vyllk Valor Day

Also called Vyllk Appreciation Day, and Cauven Day. This is more of a Cauven holiday to set aside vyllk altruisms for a thanks and show of gratitude. Races living beside vyllk are suggested to give them gifts, a day off from work, or to afford small favors or wishes. Temples throw special festivals in twin-god Cossi's name, and older traditions are brought out, and color dancers tend to be working across many available stages and/or religious grounds. Some species are invited to appropriate older culture, or visit older sacred grounds, allowed to 'feel' or honor the presence of strictly traditional vyllk culture. Vyllkard meat is mostly forbidden from sales on this day, save for byproducts used in more general cooking like the oils. Gulpery places for ryclins are closed to their usual services, while the residing vyllks can continue to gorge and play.
Religiously, the holiday is taught as a good day to restore a sense of reverence without giving up the goal for higher humility. It is believed that as their deity wished them to experience true mortal and faulty life, it must not always be about giving, but sometimes having a strong sense of returning debt. As multi-cultures and corporate demands pushed them to be more giving or resourceful and sharing, it became more ideal for a systematic holiday to enable a day to be more receiving or even selfish.

Observance

Observed customs tend to come in small but simple practices...

• Gifts from alien-originating species, to their close vyllk friends.
• A day's break for most vyllk workers, save for cases of emergencies, or ceremonial roles.
• Priests going over ancient texts and fables, often to a more alien audience that is rarely encouraged to observe.
• Aliens wearing more vyllk-like attire, or religious garb.
• Harpy dancers working across most of the day, ranging often between common stages and temples, to even smaller street shows.
• The minority of cross-species relations with vyllk tend to try and arrange marriages or proposals on this day.
• Vyllkard meat products are forbidden, and gulperies closed to ryclin clients unless they are qualified to take up for staff.
