Thermal Magnum Blaster
The Thermal Magnum Blaster is one of the most widely used blaster weapons in the OA, often left in the grasp of ryclins pursuing careers that may need a defensive weapon. Standard issue includes both a burst-fire, and a holding charge shot. The battery capacity can last a long time based on care of the firing and containment of the weapon, allowing for over a hundred shots, or bursting early in misused melt-downs. It can compact into a slightly more suitcased-shape, and often magnetizes easily to a magna-belt. Its often found coming in the color black, or gray, with red-orange battery & thermal colorations mixed in.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
Chemically active heated modules slip into the base of the gun, going on each side of a chamber. With projected energy coming from a battery, it works together all through the barrel to produce a quick heated signature of similar quality to napalm in a light, laser-like format of projectile delivery. The energy can either pool in from a charged shot, or spurt out in what often amounts to a burst in fire, depending on how the trigger is held. Multi-layered slipping chambers of the barrel factor the way its carried, and help allieve some explosive recoil. Venting happens automatically, but a draw of the battery loosely slides out and ejects the cells and chemical thermal reactors to air-out faster.
