Ryclin Diabetes
Causes
Ryclins are afflicted with their own different version of the labeled 'Diabetes' through consuming too much, and crippling the body with a metabolism that begins to confuse its systems. Ryclin were not biologically well equipped to store much food, instead more ready to quickly burn and even weaponize large prey through rapid enzymes and harsh acids. If eating excessive amounts to throw it off, and the body stops having acidic back-ups, it begins to understand it needs to store the extra energy as fat. However, the problem starts when fat starts getting confused and stored into muscles, eventually expanding until tearing the fibers. This will eventually impair movement, or even disable some entire functions, including an infamous direct form of the condition called Hip Diabetes, or Hop-decay.
Despite all said, its not easy to predict when this will occur, or how vulnerable an individual is. Some ryclin may be able to put on 100kg without an effect, while others might begin to have weakening muscle tissue for being 15kg overweight. It all just depends on the timing the body confuses functions, or if it does it at all, but the more weight it has to store away, the more likely it is for something to go wrong.
Symptoms
- Weight Gain
- Sore Pains in a swollen region
- Tender muscles
- Complete lack of muscle utility
Treatment
Can be treated through balanced diets, unless sever enough. Often muscle therapy is required, and in extreme cases, some surgical reconstruction. The ryclin recovering should maintain a balanced diet, because it is easy to relapse on a poor one, as the body is now trained to store excess easier, and can do the same thing again.
Affected Groups
Only ryclins suffer from this exact form of metabolic back-firing. Its not often genetic either, but more often acquired, and usually by groups that would devour a lot out of habit or poor ritual. This disease mostly afflicts Solavores that get a little too happy to take multiple jobs a day, or eat a lot on sites. Alternatively there's a few hunt-happy Tinkerers or Keepers that venture too much outside to eat that might be seen with such conditions. However it is also expected this condition hits less because of some hunting habits, and more due to unforseen caloric highs in drinks, with some effected ryclin mixing a lot of extra drink with a potentially passable hunting routine. As such, it still effects solavores more often who consume larger prey on average to go with their drinks, but is likely not exclusively because of eating other things.
This condition is very rare for the young, as they rarely hunt much on their own, and their metabolism better extracts excess into the basic patterns of their overall development, and will more likely bump their height up a tad.
Cultural Reception
Ryclin diabetes, or muscle decay, is largely frowned upon as an act of shame. Even in an act of 'celebrating' the success of a lot of prey, they are disgraced by the notion their body is starting to work against them, and they're more likely to fail to continue their record pace, or diet. It is double as poorly reflected among societies that don't approve of ryclin diets to begin with, and consider the gluttony to be especially atrocious for all the terrorized fauna that were expended just to cripple the consumer.
