Dwarf

Bold and hardy, dwarves are known as skilled warriors, miners, and workers of stone and metal. Though they stand well under 5 feet tall, dwarves are so broad and compact that they can weigh as much as a human standing nearly two feet taller. Their courage and endurance are also easily a match for any of the larger folk. Dwarfs are not part of the Eight Duchies and had their own independent holds in the mountains of the now Argo Empire. The holds joined the Empire due to the Nantes Empire’s threats with each Dwarven Lord promised reasonable veto power over Empire law through a High Council, and relative autonomy as long as they paid taxes contributed soldiers. As part of the Treaty of Stoneheath Dwarfs would mean equal rights with humans in the Empire.
