Cave Butts

Bulbous giant mushroom that appear like a pair round white rocks attached to a cavern's wall. Cave Butts form a network deep underground that links to the roots of trees above the cave they settle into. They engage in symbiosis with the tree's roots who get access to the difficily obtained nutrients of the soil more easily thanks to the Butt's efforts. The exposed Cave Butts are large, tasty and full of nutrients. They stockage the nutrients and dispense them to the tree when the winter comes in the surface.   Dwarven underground colonies produce a small quantity of Cave Butts. They are a rare delicacy and that is exclusive to the Blunter Range.
