Taukkar

Taukkar was born the son of King Talius, the ruler of Tyrinia. His mother was a Meldenian Maiden, who had also given birth to his elder brother, Prince Thaalon.
As the younger sibling, Taukkar was not groomed for political leadership. The responsibility of succeeding their father fell on the shoulders of his older brother. Taukkar was trained as a warrior and knight, to eventually assume a leadership role in the Tyrinian army. Taukkar excelled at his martial training and was content with the role he was fated for in life, having neither the desire, not disposition for politics.
Since he was a young boy, Taukkar has raised and trained his faithful steed, Ayala. Alaya is a Xansan, a rare species of giant birds that are only found in the Arenian Mountains. Keeping and training a Xansan is a time-consuming and costly pursuit, only afforded to the wealthy. Taukkar has raised Alaya since she was a mere fledgling and the bond between them runs deep.
When the Kroll invaded Tyrinia, both Taukkar's father and brother were killed in the battle. Now Taukkar is faced with a dilemma - Tyrinia is in ruins and desperately needs a King - a role he neither wanted, nor feels qualified to fulfill.
