Praesis Vigilo is Orb's first dragon and, as such, is extremely powerful and knowledgeable. One of the three ancient dragons, Vigilo is shrouded in mystery and exists as more of a folk story or myth in the minds of Orb's citizens.
In actuality, Praesis Vigilo resides in a watchtower that stands ominously over the walls of
Port Sherwood.
Praesis Vigilo's Tower itself is enchanted, making it impossible to remember once out of sight. He is the leader of
Order of the White Rose and is still highly active in its operations. "Active" may not be the optimal word, however, as he is currently incapacitated in suspended animation in his tower. This is to keep his body from aging and also so that he can focus his magical energy on keeping a portal to the Abyss sealed in his tower.
History
When the world was created, Praesis Vigilo was also. In his young years, he kept watch over a small patch of land containing a halfling village. The village prospered and Vigilo was so proficient in his leadership that his presence quickly became irrelevant in its upkeep. He moved on, establishing larger and larger cities. His care spread across the world and even with his power growing he recruited the help of two other dragons to aid him in his watchful protection:
Martyris Tenera and
Fel Medax.
Vigilo has always been a benevolent power in the world and in those early times, never presumed himself a ruler. When the
Demon Lords rose the first time to make Orb their battlegrounds, Vigilo did not wield the political power to unite the world against them. When the demons returned to the Abyss, Vigilo realized what he had to do to prevent such an incursion again.
He established the
Order of the White Rose, named such for the flowers that grew in Vigilo's original halfling village. White roses quickly became a symbol of peace and unification. Vigilo directed his efforts towards political pursuits and obtained a seat in most cities' and towns' politics. Through the power of the Order, Vigilo managed to unite the world in a strained state of peace. And luckily so as the
Demon Lords returned.
History
Blanca Ondlavski originally tried to kill Praesis Vigilo but failed. Vigilo took her under his wing and nursed her back to health. When healthy enough, Blanca attempted to kill him again and was once again defeated and nursed back to health. This continued until the assassination attempts became less and less enthusiastic. Eventually, Blanca conceded and allowed herself to be taken prisoner. Vigilo saw the potential in the young tiefling and instead took her on as his pupil, training her in politics, demonology, magic, strategy, combat, and much more. Since, they have become great friends. Blanca's perception of Vigilo, much like other mortals who have met him, is that of a minor deity. To Vigilo, however, Blanca remains his greatest student and regards her as a strong mortal who deserves great respect.

Blanca often refers to Vigilo as "Our Golden Friend" or "Our Golden Watcher".
