Lesser Spirits

Lesser Spirits are spirits of the world itself, in contrast to Greater Spirits which are spirits that come from or reside in distant and strange realms. Lesser Spirits come in all shapes and sizes, and range from impossible for humans to comprehend to as simple as a bowl of fruit. The ones that are playable are the Lesser Spirits that are more human like, and that have an easy time interacting with humans if they desire to. These spirits are still extremely diverse and in many ways are like Jinna, but they are instead spirits of the local world.

A Spiritual Life

Many spirits are born in what humans call the old fashioned way, a union of two other other spirits of compatible types. Just as many spirits are born through less conventional means such as magical mishaps and rituals creating strange effects in an area. Many times they just come into being at random, created by the natural magical energies of the world for reasons unknown to humanity. Sometimes they can even come from the elements themselves a strange spark of life in even the most unlikeliness of situations or locations. Regardless of how they come into being these spirits live lives much more attuned with the magic of the world, capable of seeing and feeling it in ways most others can only dream of. There are no large scale spirit civilizations or societies, though they occasionally form tribes or move into abandoned towns and villages. The majority of those who feel a need to be social end up just attaching themselves to a random human group and following them around until they are accepted as part of it. Many of these spirits are naturally curious and feel drawn to activity and with their unique connection to magic, most societies are willing to let them hang around. As a result it isn't too unusual to see a spirit occupying any range of positions in a given society, whether they happen to feel they fit in the most or where someone was needed by the given group.
