Gulp

Cryptids of the deep depths, children of Torgo. Dumb as a bag of rocks. Dumb enough to eat a bag of rocks.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Humanoid with long whiplike tails ending in a glowing lure, with webbed hands and paddle-like feet. Perhaps most bizarrely, they have heads like gulper eels--complete with huge, gaping mouths.

Genetics and Reproduction

Reproduces in ten-year cycles, where they swim to the surface to spawn under moonlight. They spend about a week much closer to the surface than normal, fertilizing and then hiding eggs.   When the eggs hatch, the young ("fry") quickly disperse to avoid competition as they feed in the relatively shallow waters. They feed here for about a year before joining the adults in the depths.

Ecology and Habitats

At the deepest depths of the ocean.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Poor eyesight, easily blinded in daylight or even strong moonlight.   Poor hearing as well.   Sense of touch is incredibly sensitive, especially in water.
