Didemrios

Didemrios (called the Secret Sun) is a young gold dragon, living in exile. The last of her kind, she fled Auros during Yog's purges and sought refuge in the wider world. For many hundreds of years, she dwelled among communities of humans, elves, dwarves and halflings before, in 896 FA, Yog’s hunt for the Starsphere drove her from exile.    Dwelling as a priest for many years, Didemrios was a devout and powerful cleric, sworn to Gno, the god of wisdom, in all their many forms. In either form, Didemrios was distinct for the golden curls that cascaded around her head.

History

As a dragonborn, Didemrios fled Auros in 87 4A and took refuge in Rubicos. After her dracomorphosis was complete, she moved from community to community, using her natural polymorph to live amongst mortals. During this time, a hound archon approached her and begged for her intervention, to help curb the advance of Yog, but Didemrios – too frightened and ashamed – never answer the call. Nonetheless, the hound archon stayed and eventually became her constant companion.    In 812 4A, she came to Cape Cowrie and adopted the persona of Goldilocks (Dee, for short), a halfling antiquer in the small town of Crookston-By-Water in northeastern Rubicos. Her hound archon, in the form of a great hound, dwelled with her under the name Buchanan. At one point, she purchased a rare and expensive astrolabe from Yancy Wickerbock, her neighbor and college, never suspecting that it was, in fact, the legendary Starsphere.   It was in 896 4A, when a team of Yog Marked finally visited Cape Cowrie, searching for the Starsphere, that Didemrios was drawn back into the wider conflict.

Campaigns

All Hail Yog

  • The Instrument: Before he was murdered, Yancy Wickerbock shot a sending to Dee, warning her of the attack and what they sought. Knowing she needed to protect the artifact, she and Buchanan fled Crookston and took to the sea, intending to arrange a beacon to summon the Covenant Kingdoms on a lonely island in the midst of the bay. When the villains arrived, Dee and Buchanan – returned to his true form – did desperate battle against the evil-doers. It was the sight of Agnoment, however, that froze Dee. She pleaded with the celestial, begging them to repent and come back to the light and, to her surprise and delight, the angel did. When Buchanan was slain, however, Dee peeled away her halfling guise and revealed her true form. Raging out of the chapel, she flew into a rage, searching in vain for the missing astrolabe. Though the villains escaped, it was Agnoment’s courage that convinced Didemrios the time for hiding was past.
