Clamuth
Clamuth is a small halfling town in the Cape Cowrie region of Rubicos. Clamuth
Built upon the banks of the Drinkwater, Clamuth is the oldest city on Cape Cowrie. It stands upon a sandy bluff, overlooking the river. One of the two largest towns on the Cape, Clamuth has a population of nearly 500 people. It is defined by its Maine Street, wandering cattywampus across the entire town. Its primary export, as the name suggests, is clams, harvested from the river bank and the long stretch of beach along the bay.
Clamuth is proud and fussy about its long and ornate history. It is ruled by a tangled bueracratic web of mayors, treasurers, secretaries, beadles and aldermen. This prevents any one person for consolidating too much power.
Clamuth is famous for its yearly festival – Clamfaire – steeped in tradition and frankly not very much fun.
- False Beach: A tidal flat that hugs the coastline, False Beach is the best place to go clamming. During Clamfaire, it is swarmed with children and their chaperones.
- Grande Olde City Hall: The only stone building in Clamuth, it is a grand ole structure, approximately three stories and always under repair and restoration.
- Maine Street: The main thoroughfaire of the town and the festival, Maine Street starts at the Grand City Hall and winds its way to the riverbank through many switchbacks.
