Mosser Er
An unlikely mining town, Mosser Er sprung up over a system of caverns which hold a seemingly endless supply of blue autessite. Originally only occupied by the Whithamian Golds who created it, it now contains a great deal of crostruses who have taken over governing the town and exporting the metal.
Demographics
The majority of the population is still golden miners, but a steadily growing portion of crostruses have joined the ranks. Crostruses are the wealthy class, in control (for as much control as a crostrus could be said to have). There are some goldens who are not Whithamian Golds, but the last survey give that as only a handful of individuals, as most left after the Venztorian Empire claimed the area.
Government
As any government run by the crostrus species, there is little consistency to how Mosser Er is run these days. Unfortunately, unlike other settlements where the working classes are able to push forth their own law underneath the Venztorian crostruses, the crostruses living in Mosser Er are very interested in the mining of blue autessite. Because of rapidly shifting taxes and on and off trade restrictions, the miners find themselves with very little of their bounty and less sent to the manufacturers they had agreements with when Mosser Er was a part of Azni-alay.
Industry & Trade
Under the surface of Mosser Er and under the top layer of caverns is an intricate crisscross of blue autessite mines. For hundreds of years it has remained plentiful.
Infrastructure
Only a fraction of Mosser Er is on the surface - most of the living spaces and trade centres are underground where it is cooler. The largest sign one is approaching Mosser Er are the large fog catchers which give most of the people their water. Crops are grown above the surface, in domed greenhouses made of blue autessite and glass.
Guilds and Factions
Before the Venztorian Empire took over, the miner's guild was also in charge of governing Mosser Er. Now they do what they can to have control over their work, leaving the rest of the town to their own devices.
The other guild are the rain catchers, who are also in charge of the greenhouses.
Tourism
With the heat and limited access to water, most species would just rather not. Those who travel through are hardly there for Mosser Er itself, but as a short reprieve from the inhospitable terrain. The few who are interested in this town itself are either cavern enthusiasts or auto mechanics and manufacturers.
Architecture
Most of the architecture is the careful utilization of empty caverns and shafts created in the miners' search for blue autessite. The fog catchers above ground collect water which runs down through pipes in the cavern walls to be dispensed to the population.
Geography
Even at night, above ground is still warm, all dust and wind. In the southeast grows some small shrubs, but these are inedible to the goldens and crostruses, so are only used for fertilizer and for the few species who feast on them.
Natural Resources
While there is some steel and magnesium in the ground under Mosser Er, it is the blue autessite that gives the town most of its wealth.
