USS Voyager

(Voyager bridge crew circa 2377)       Image taken in 2370
In retrospect, this seemingly pedestrian image is rather poignant. Taken in Earth Station Leyte during early 2371, it captures three historically important starships in a single image. At the foreground is the USS Defiant, preparing for its deployment to Deep Space Nine. Behind is the USS Enterprise-D, which is transferring several personnel to the station. At the background is the newly completed USS Voyager, fresh from her performance tuning phase.   Also noteworthy is the Steamrunner Class USS Menehune, which is passing by.

There was an idea, to gather a remarkable group of people."   At Deep Space Nine, three legendary Starfleet crews are preparing for a joint operation, the details of which are still classified. At the outskirts of the system, elements of the 3rd, 6th and 7th UFP Fleets are being gathered. All non-essential personnel have also been evacuated from the station.   Before Voyager could finally be allowed to rest however, she would undertake one final mission in which shewould see action against the Borg one last time. In 2380, the rogue Vulcan scientist, T'Uerell, having sustained herself into the 24th century using recovered Borg technology since the Earth-Romulan War, had taken advantage of the Collective's collapse into chaos, being able to form a collective of her own from a number of disabled Borg ships that had been deployed within the Beta Quadrent at the time, with herself as it's apparent queen. Obsessed with bring order to a chaotic Galaxy and beliving the Borg as the key to achiving this, T'Uerell requested a "negotiation" with the Federation to discuss this. In response, Starfleet dispatched Admiral Janeway and Captain Picard, the two flag officers with the most experience in dealing with the Borg, to meet with T'Uerell and investigate her offer. Janeway decided to resume command of Voyager one last time for the mission, arguing that it's still integrated technology from the future would be a useful asset should the offer prove false. Janeway was proven correct, as T'Uerell's demands were little more than a pretext for conquest, causing hostilites to break out. Under Janeway's final command, Voyager was instumental in defeating T'Uerell and her collective when they made their final stand within a cosmic string inside an uncharted nebula.   By 2381, Voyager was offically decommissioned and, in light of it's historic journey, was designated a museum ship. After being transferred to the Portelo system for conversion and a strange but brief issue involving the discovery of leftover macorganisms that had somehow remained onboard the ship from it's time in the Delta Quadrent, the ship was put on display temporarily at the Presido in San Fransisco.
A year later, Voyager was then taken to the fleet museum at Alten Prime.
In 2409, with the Federation suffering increasing losses across multiple battlefronts, Admiral Tuvok recommissioned Voyager into active service, taking the ship as his personal flagship. Given Tuvok's familarity with the Undine from his time in the Delta Quadrent, his first mission in command of Voyager was to investigate why the Undine were infiltrating nations across the known Galaxy and sowing chaos. To this end, Tuvok took remarkably forward approach. Reaching out to the Klingon Empire who, despite the ongoing conflict with the Federation, were more eager to see the Undine's infiltration efforts thrarted, as well as the newly formed Romulan Replublic, Tuvok would lead a taskforce into the Undine's Fluidic space for reconissance in force, wth Voyager leading the charge. What they found was disturbing. The Undine were once again being invaded by Borg forces, who now appeared to be having more success in occupying the extra-dimensional realm. Not only this however, but the taskforce also discovered that the Undine were being regularily harrassed by what appeared to be starships from nation across the Milky Way. Investigating these ships found that this was a ruse; the ships were actually highly convincing fakes, made and controlled by the newly re-emerging Iconians. It would appear that the Undine's entire campaign of infiltration and disrution that had brought chaos and pitched the allied powers of the Milky Way against each other was itself born from a false-flag operation framing those powers as attempting to invade the Undine's realm, breaking Janeway's fragile truce.   With the Delta Quadrent now open, Voyager would lead the newly emerging Delta Alliance, composed primarily of the Federation, the Klingon Empire and the Romulan Republic, as it returned to the Delta Quadrent as part of Operation: Delta Rising via the newly discvered Solanae dyson sphere.
