Return to the Alpha Quadrant

Having spent much of her life as a Borg drone in the Delta Quadrent, For numorous years after her liberation, Seven had struggled with the notion of how she would begin a new life as an individual back in the Federation if Voyager returned. Now that it had, she would decide to meet with her aunt, who was residing on Earth in order to resestablish ties to her family and further reconnect to her Humanity. They would initially be pestered by curious news reporters but this would be curtailed thanks to intervention from the newly promoted Admiral Janeway.   Seven would also meet Jean Luc Picard, captain of the Federation flagship USS Enterprise who himself had formerly been assimilated by the Borg for a brief time before being rescued. Picard and his crew would be involved with the the initial stages of reintegrating Voyager's crew back into Federation life with counselling services and providing testimony at the Voyager inquiry. Built initially on their shared expereinces with the Borg, Seven and Picard would develop a correspondanse with each other from this time that would develop into a long standing friendship.   With the Voyager inquiry complete by mid 2379, Seven would initially join the Daystrom Institute, providing the group valuable insight and information on the Borg. She would also offically adopt Icheb as a member of her family. As 2380 began, Seven would make her former captain aware of a suprise decision: she wished to enlist in Starfleet. Despite previously being ambivelent to both the prospect of joining the service and even returning to Earth, Seven's time on Voyager, especially in recent months, had made her reconsider. Her decision was further informed by a desire to remain in role now familar to her and to continue to have bonds with her former shipmates, including Icheb who was proceeding with his application to Starfleet Academy. The admiral would enthustiastically sponsor her application. Unfortunately, events would proceed differently.   Despite Janeway and the Voyager crew's endorsements, members of the admirality were hesitant to allow Seven to join given her long time as a Borg drone. This was further compounded when Seven was denied Federation citizenship by the Federation supreme court in a suprise upset decision. This was despite having been born a Federation citizen on the Federation Tendara colony. This, along with ongoing issues with certain media outlets and petty acts of discrimination from certain citizens, led to Seven's Starfleet application being rejected, despite heavy backlash from Admiral Janeway. This was also in contrast   While unable to enter Starfleet directly, Seven was offered a role as a consultant to a newly created anti-Borg taskforce developed by Admiral Jean Luc Picard and with Janeway's backing in early 2381. Initially Seven accetped this role, beliving as they did that the threat that the Borg posed was still a distinct possibilty, in the process moving to several different planets. However, Seven would feel inreasingly dissillusioned with the recent setbacks and ongoing mistreatment resulting from her Borg history. By 2384, after settling in the Utsira system, Seven would come into contact with the newly formed vigilante group known as the Fenris Rangers, which had been created by former members of several law enforcement agencies of the Qiris sector following the collapse of a number of local goverments in the region amidst the chaotic Romulan evacuation. After becoming involved in a Ranger operation that led to the successful arrest of a warlord who had been terrorising the sector, Seven would become attracted by the group's stated aims of providing aid and achiving justice for the helpless, especially those affected by the Romulan evacuation at the time.   In 2385, Seven severed her remaining ties with Starfleet in protest after it decided both it's decison that the Borg were no longer a threat after nearly a decade of no sigihtings of an organised Collective and to end it's support for the Romulan evacuation following the Synth attack on Mars. Seven saw these decision as dangerously reckless and would fully commit herself as a member of the Fenris Rangers.   Tragedy would strike though when Icheb, who was assigned to the USS Coleman and on a reconnaissance mission at the time, was kidnapped by a criminal known as Bjayal, who had infiltrated the Rangers to get close to Seven in a scheme to harvest borg technology from former drones. While Seven would find Icheb, the wounds from the extraction process were too severe and he died. Seven would continue working with the Rangers, continuing to aid Romulan refugees after the destruction of Romulus in 2387 whilst also continuing to track down Bjayal, despite pleas from friends and colleagues to return to Earth. Eventually, in 2399, Seven would find Byjal on the commercial world of Freecloud after coming to the aid of Admiral Picard at Vhasti when he was searching for missing Starfleet officer Bruce Maddox in an unoffical capacity. There she killed Bjayal and dismantled her criminal syndicate, finally achieving closure for her adopted son's death.

The Nepenthe Incident

After La Sirena returned to Earth and its crew debriefed by Starfleet regarding their adventure and discoveries, the captain of La Sirena, Cristóbal Rios would be was offered to have his commission reinstated which he accepted. However, this left an issue regarding what would happen to the La Sirena. He deciding to gift it to Seven as a "Thank you" present, recognising that it could help her work as a ranger.

The Jurati Collective, Starfleet and Captain of the Enterprise

Seven would continue to operate as a ranger until 2401, when she encountered an anomaly within Federation space, the same anomaly that the USS Avalon encountered shortly earlier. After reporting this to now Captain Rios aboard the newly commissioned USS Stargazer, she would join his ship as it investigated, reuniting with those she worked with during the Nepenthe incident. It was soon learned that it was in fact the Borg who had created the anomaly and were, in a shocking twist, requesting Federation associate membership, of which to be faciltated by Admiral Picard. A Starfleet task force was hastily assembled to confront the Borg ship that emerged, however it's ships were disabled when a Borg queen beamed aboard the Stargazer and accessed it's computer systems, gaining control of Borg technology that had been integrated through the ship that she used to disable the fleet. What happened next is uncertain, but Seven, Picard and several others from the Nepenthe Incident claim that they were taken from the ship as it was destroyed by auto-destruct ordered by Picard, an event that did not occur. However, they claim that this was done by the powerful being known as Q, the same member of the Q Continum that Picard had encountered multiple times, who took them into an alternate timeline where the Federation did not exsist, instead replaced by a xenophobic, Human-centric "Confederation" that conqured its way across the Galaxy. Seven, Picard and the others would discover that this timeline was the result of a change precipitated by Q in 21st century Earth, which they travelled back to using a captured Borg Queen for a time jump and were able to repair.

This was found to have been some kind of final test for Picard by Q, who then returned all but two members of the La Sirena crew to the moment just before Picard ordered the Stargazer's auto-destruct, who then this time cancelled the order. Picard now realised that the Borg Queen was actually Dr Agnes Jurati, who had remained in the past after being partially assimilated by the Borg Queen, but who had retained her individuality, leading to her becoming a Borg queen herself of an alternative and peaceful Collective separate from the one the Federation had encountered and who now approached the Federation for aid in stopping a disaster that would destroy several star systems. Captain Rios had also stayed behind in the 21st century after developing attachments to people he encountered there, leading to Picard deciding to give Seven a field re-instatement and promotion to captain of the Stargazer to help handle the crisis. The joint Federation-Borg task force was successful and for the first time since the aiding of the Unimatrix One rebel drones by the USS Voyager, an alliance was formed between the Federation and a peaceful faction of the Borg, now numbering up to three.

Seven would take the Stargazer back to Earth, where after a debriefing that included her old friends Admiral Janeway and Tuvok, Seven would decide to formally return to Starfleet, following a series of conversation with Picard and her former crewmates from Voyager. After deliberations among the admiralty and recommendations from Picard, Janeway and Tuvok, it was agreed that her reinstatement would be formalised and her field rank-upheld. She would be assigned as captain of the Stargazer, resuming its first seven-year exploratory mission. Before departing, she would reconnect with her former Voyager collagues and repair the bonds she had with them. Regarding the account she and Picard recounted of their tmeporal mission with Q, while there is no way to verify this account, it is still likely to have occured given the powers of the Q and their previous behavoir and as such is accepted to have occured by Starfleet Command.

Operation Delta Rising

In 2408, Seven would take a leave of absense and would temporarily rejoin the Daystrom Institute. She would also clandestinely continue to aid the Fenris Rangers in an unoffical capacity to once again aid the Romulans now that the democratic Romulan Republic had formed and was growing rapidly, effectively battling against Empress Sela's Imperial Remanant and proving to be a much more effective and viable state to previous breakaway states such as the Romulan Free State. Seven believed the Republic finally provided the best opportunity for reform and freedom for the Romulan people and her aid would prove essential during the Republic's early days.   In 2409, the original Borg Collective finally returned to the Alpha Quadrent, invading and assimilating the Vega colony. Seven would be called upon by Admiral Janeway to offer advise and information to help counter their resurgent threat, providing valuable data, strategies and reccomendations that proved useful in combating the Borg, including verifiyng the location of a unimatrix complex at the Beta-Delta quadrent border serving as a base for it's attacks, as well as a unexpected boon provided by her connection to the Rangers and her work with the Romulans that allowed her to uncover Imperial Romulan efforts in exploiting Borg technology.   In 2410, with the Imperial Romulan Empire now dissoloving and the discovery of the Dyson Sphere Gateway linking the Beta and Delta Quadrents, Seven was requested as a specialist by Admiral Tuvok for Operation Delta Rising, a massive operation to begin exploration of the newly opened region of the Galaxy that only Voyager had explored. Seven accepted the position of science adviser to Tuvok's fleet and was assigned to the USS Callisto.

The Iconian War

Post-Iconian War

With the Iconian War over, Seven would take a leave of absense. During this, she was contacted by former associates among the Fenris Rangers who informed her of potential Borg activity in the Tralius system. With Starfleet and the military forces of every other power in the Alpha and Beta quadrents exhausted from the conflict, Seven would investigate the issue on the Ranger's behalf. Despite this, Seven was able to enlist the aid of the Alliance captain who had worked with her previosuly during Operation Delta Rising, as well as their ship and crew to help with this investigation. It was soon revealed that this was actually orchestrated by the Excalbians, who sought to continue a trail started in the 23rd century with Captain Kirk to assess which of the concepts of good or evil were superior and to which the Excalbian people should aspire to. This soon lead to a crisis involving whereby near perfect simulacrums of the Borg became self aware and attempted to assimilate Excalbia and it's people, but was thankfully averted by Seven, the Alliance captain and their ship, as well as simulacrums of historic ships and crews from across Starfleet's history. With the crisis resolved, Seven determined that the suspected Borg activity was actually the result of the Orion Sydicate and passed this information on to Ranger channels to resolve.       Currently, she has returned to service in Starfleet and has been assigned command of the USS Stargazer
