The WorldForge

The WorldForge is a yearly celebration held by provident members of the Nomans group of people within the frozen wasteland, with people all over The Lost Continent Of America and even a few beyond coming to it, all to celebrate for the span of a week; coming together to celebrate humanity's survival, the ingenuity many have displayed, and for some; the survival of Moonblight after the Stampede Of Ice threatened the city.

History

On June 3rd, 2005, around six months after the Stampede Of Ice; the leader of the Nomans, Nazareth, was discussing with Moonblight's Guardsman, James Volkov, about old holidays that used to be celebrated before World War III occurred. Despite certain misgivings James had with the man, there was one thing that they certainly agreed on: people in the frozen wasteland needed something to boost morale. They both decided to work together to create a celebration for the end of the year, based on a large flame that Nazareth claimed represented humanity's desire for survival, a 'World Ember' as it were. While James thought the giant fire was a little out there, he allowed it. With the help of the Nomans, they picked out a location outside Refounded territory that would function as a good place to hold the celebration, with the justification of the event being held in a 'neutral' location not owned by any of the groups in the frozen wasteland.   In a span of time from June 24th to December 26th, the area was set up with help from not only the Nomans and members of The Refounded, but even those from The Order Of The Holy Stone, the Shadowlands, and the Navajo Clan gave assistance with its construction. While some help was accepted from Frozen Core, some people were reluctant to accept their help; due to their previous counterpart's part in causing the Stampede Of Ice. Regardless, after a few months of hard work; which included reinforcing the area to keep the Living Ice away, as well as making sure the buildings and the massive furnace could survive the elements. And so, from the 27th of December to the 31st; as a way to send the year off, The WorldForge is held; with the only time it was skipped a year being on 2017, after relations between The Refounded and The Umbra had begun to sour; the latter group attempting to destroy the Great Forge that year.

Execution

Precursor

From the beginning of December to the 26th, people in the area around where the event is hosted; mainly those from The Refounded, Port Sinclair, The Frozen Core, and the Navajo Clan, prepare for the celebration by gathering whatever food and supplies they can get their hands on. Farmers working in Greenhouses and Reinforced Barns Some would go as far as to create some tools and art to share with people they meet at this event, while others would craft their own stories to share. Most importantly, it's at this time of year that people such as the owner of The Last Bar On Earth can share the various types of vodka and beer that they have created. Meanwhile, the people that host the event set up various camps, as well as make sure that the structures are all sound and free from infestation from Living Ice. Once that's all taken care of, they gather as much coal, dried-out wood, and Flame Edenite as needed for the Great Forge.

Day 1

On the first day, people begin to come to the Great Forge, staying inside either camps or the given structures at their own choosing. It is as the sun sets that people gather around the Great Forge. After a speech by Nazareth and Adrian Briggs, the celebration begins with a massive feast; composed of a lot of the food that has been brought by everyone! Food such as the chili eggs and Cajun turkey from the south-eastern part of America, burritos made with real meat and artificial cheese the Frozen Core had managed to get their hands on, blue bread and dried corn from the Navajo Tribes, and whatever food that the Nomans decide to bring to the celebration that year. As the feast dies down and people whom haven't seen each other in ages talk and have a good night, people turn to the shelters for rest.

Day 2 - 4

Over the next three days, the shops that some event-goers have created are set up, beginning to sell the various items, tools, specialized foods and art pieces that they have created. Others hang around the feasting table to enjoy more delicious delights and share stories. A couple of games are held in the indoor buildings surrounding the Great Forge, including basketball and boxing. A few people go hunting in the woods for sport and fun, coming back with various game that they find with the full intent of cooking them for the celebration! A few people whom have managed to get their hands on whatever musical instruments that they could find do live shows, playing songs that they have created.

Day 5

On the last day, after the last items the shops have are sold out; live shop displays are shut down and the final songs are played, there is one last feast held around the Great Forge; as midnight approaches. It is as the time reaches midnight that the celebration is officially over, as it is the beginning of a new year, another year of survival. With this in mind, people take one last rest before they begin to return to their homes the next day, knowing that although the next year will be just as hard and just as cold as the last; they at least have some reassurance that everything will be okay.
