The Last Bar On Earth

The Last Bar On Earth is exactly as the name says, the last bar that you can find on the planet. Stocked with both freshly brewed and aged alcohol of all sorts, it's become a popular location in Moonblight and, by extension, all the cities united under The Refounded to go to for a nice, stiff drink, so they can forget about their sorrows, if not for one night.

Purpose / Function

The Last Bar On Earth is a two-storied building with a basement, each floor serving a different purpose. The first floor is where the bar actually is, where Ashton personally serves the beer he has brewed; as well as some food for people to enjoy. There is an old TV sitting at the bar table connected to a tape player, with a shelf filled to the brim with various VHS tapes in varying conditions, all of which are made up of movies that were released before October 25th, 1962. Near a couple of small, round tables and torn-leathery chairs, is a pool table that was taken from a storage locker that was filled to the brim with hundreds upon hundreds of junk that people had put away for whatever reason ranging from not wanting them anymore to not having anywhere to put them. At the bar is where you can buy the different alcohols that Ashton has brewed, whether it's through using cigarettes, or through trading him with specific items.   The basement is where Ashton's home-made brewery is, of which he has 6 kegs that he uses for his alcohol, with two air-tight homemade fermentors that use salvaged air-pumps from gas stations. With the assistance of an employee he has trained personally, he can make around 1800 fl oz of beer per week. Two closets are found down here, one containing stuff that generally doesn't have to be frozen, while the other closet is outlined with insulation and a thick layer of ice as to act as a freezer. Both closets are used to store the materials he needs for making his beer. On the second floor of his home, there is a bathroom and a small bedroom, where Ashton lives.

History

Originally, this two-storied building with a basement was the home of Ashton Macdonald, of which he lived in every day of his life inside the cold walls of Moonblight; wishing for a drink of alcohol that he hadn't had in ages. It would be on the first of October that a large Searcher team led by James Volkov arrived after a long month of roaming the ruined metropolis of Savannah Aisle on the coast of Georgia; carrying a large amount of supplies that no one had managed to obtain from the sinking city before. Included in the supplies were several bottles of alcohol and a couple of books on brewmaking, of which Ashton eagerly took. After one week of drinking and two weeks of experimentation, he had managed to create his own batch of brew. After his neighbors showed interest in the beer he had made, he eventually decided to start selling the alcohol to people in Moonblight; getting help from various different people in the community to help with it's construction.

LOVE the name and concept, and the price list makes me laugh. Great stuff.   Also, it's super hard to see my text in the comment box as I'm writing it, just so you know!

Thank you! Yeah, in this world, the best things that one needs is learning new skills and being in a group of other survivors. Getting drunk also helps as long as you have shelter, heh. I hope you enjoy reading the articles as I create them!
