Xettia, Goddess of Thunder has a reputation for being rather destructive. Her wrath can sink the mightiest ships and wash away the sturdiest structures. Yet those who whorship Xettia admire the destructive beauty of her storms. Whorshippers of Xettia are often sailors and arcane users specializing in storm magic. Some clerics have learned to harness her domain and combine that with healing, while some sorceres can unleash the power of Xettia's storms upon their enemies. Sailors pray she remains calm before embarking across the sea; hoping her wrath and that of Vyndar, God of Water do not combine. Yet, Xettia's domain extends beyond the sea. Her beauty and destruction can reach just about any creature. Oftentimes, when quarreling with the other Gods, Xettia will unleash lightning onto the temples dedicated to her comrades.
Her most destructive tantrum known to this day is the 18 Day Tempest over 200 years ago in what is now the Republic of Slanteria. Records indicate a sunny day suddenly turned dark and a horrible storm emerged off the coast. The dark sky became bright with constant lightning. The quiet summer day rang with booms of thunder. Strong rain flooded lowlaying lands and high winds blew structure to the ground. The storm persisted endlessly, and on the eighteenth day, it suddenly stopped. The dark clouds dispersed and the sun shone. There were remarkbaly few casualties, yet the coastal tribes in Slanteria were scattered and many temporary structures were destroyed.
Artifacts
Xettia's champions are known to be powerful arbitors of her domain. Most of the time, her champions are powerful clerics or sorcerers. Champions of Xettia can call upon her wrath to unleash a booming thunderclap powerful enough to raze a building or decimate a leigon of warriors. Only the champions themselves know how to call upon this power. Some religious sholars believe these her champions are gifted a token which allows them to release the power of the Goddess. However, others disagree, believing the champions themselves can unleash her power as long as they have her blessing.
