Princess Saranya (Sar-an-ya)
Princess Saranya is well known for her role in the War of the Seven Emperors and her failed revolution against her cousin Emperor Chardil. As one of the last surviving grandchildren of Emperor Alboril IV, she made her claim for the throne reciving support from the south central lords.
She was largley inactive during the reigns of Emperors Alencil and Alboril V and focused more on maintaining the support of her lords. However, it is suspected that she was one of the main reasons neither Emperor Alencil or Alboril could maintain control of the capital due to her sowing unrest in the city.
Once her cousin, Emperor Chardil, succeeded in claiming the throne and unleashing his terror across the country, she shifted from her desire to rule to a desire to see his terror end.
Revolution and First Death:
Saranya and many of her supporters managed to infiltrated the city of Albion, beginning to sow the seeds of revolution. She ammased a small army of common folk to help rid the Albion of Chardil and planned for revolution to take place on Life Day. Unfortunatley, word of her plans reached Chardil before they could be enacted.
On the day of the ill-fated revolution, Princess Saranya and her army stormed the castle. Once they reached the castle, however, they found it empty. With all of the revolutionaries inside Castle Besk, Chardil's men barred the doors and blocked all windows and other exits, sealing them in. Chardil then cast dark magic, filling the castle with a scalding poisonous gas.
Undead State and Second Death:
By the time the castle was unsealed, letting the gas out, Saranya and all of her followers were dead, most of them barely recognizable. Saranya's body was identified amidst the dead, and was raised as a zombie in service to Chardil. He forced her to stand before the city, barely recognizable for the burns covering her skin. While on display, he had her impale herself, an action that wasn't enough to kill her again. Her undead body was displayed on the castle ramparts for months as a warning to the people.
Finally, three months after the revolution, Chardil had the people gather once again. He provided Saranya's body with a sword, and had her eviscerate herself, finally killing her once again. Her rotting corpse would remain on the castle ramparts until the end of Chardil's reign.
