Ibin, God of Chance (eye-bin)

God of Chance Ibin

A man sits in the corner of a tavern, surrounded by a small group of equally grubby people. He shakes the small cup in his hand, the bone dice rattling around within. As he shakes, he offers up a quiet prayer. He tosses the dice and they rattle across the table, eventually coming to a rest with three sixes face up. An automatic win. He collects his winnings and stands to leave, offering a quick thanks to Ibin for his blessing.   A minor noble leans against the outside an inn, tossing a gold coin in the air, catching it with nonchalance. He tosses it once more, but the coin takes an odd flip, ending up out of his reach and clattering to the stone pavement. He bends over to pick it up, hearing a thud against the wall above him. He turns to see an arrow sticking out of the wall where his head had been only a second before. He snatches up the coin and sprints down the street, a prayer of thanks to Ibin on his breath the entire way home.

Divine Domains

The god of chance, Ibin is most often associated with gamblers, though those who have felt his touch are just as likely to have survived an assassination attempt by pure luck, or hauled in a huge catch of fish on the last cast of their nets. The luck of Ibin, however, does go both ways. Those who end up on the wrong side of Ibin's chance could find themselves breaking a leg falling from a stool, or dying from a fall that most would have walked away from uninjured.

Artifacts

While neither their existence or their connection to Ibin can be confirmed, it is said that there exists a set of dice and a deck of cards that Ibin bestowed upon a pair of gamblers. Both were said to offer amazing power, but at the same time running an equally great risk. The dice, it was said, could grant strength and magical abilities far beyond most humans, but at the risk of turning into a fiendish being with no control over themselves, dedicated to carrying out the darker side of Ibin's will. Because of this, they have been dubbed "The Devil's Dice." The deck is said to look like any other set of Tarot cards, but rather than predicting the future, they forced it. Any card drawn would have instant effect, most often to the extreme. With as many effects as cards that could be drawn, it became known as the "Deck of Many Things."
