Tiriana Neve

The Divine Idol of Selflessness and Untimely Death

Tiriana is a light-skinned Female Arctic Elf with tired cerulean eyes and short-cropped hair of falling snow. She is usually depicted wearing lightly colored, breathable clothing with a depiction of a black cord around Her waist. The Divine Idol Herself is most often represented on tombstones, poetry, and dirges. Physical representations appear in two halves; one has Tiriana holding the hand of the deceased, while the other has Tiriana pulling their spirit into The Wake. Written depictions of Tiriana are more akin to the sudden stop of life, and all of them end abruptly where there is a sense of longing for the next stanza that will never come. Her mount is recognized as being a Vello Light Warhorse.

Dogma

Tiriana is what can be considered a direct and motivated Idol. She remains dedicated to any tasks she has been assigned, but she regrets not failing Jack, the Divine Idol of Balance and Honor. She sought to go alone in hopes of ensuring the survival of Her allies, and tragically lost Her life to the objective. She was direct in Her approach, and Her intentions were focused. To everyone She worked with, She was always honest about Her intentions. And She knew that She may not be coming back from that mission.

Gaining Favor or Redemption

Tiriana gives favor to anyone capable of selfless acts. However, Her concerns lie with those that are selfish to a fault. Her disposition towards those that are callous and care more for themselves than for others, especially Her worshippers, are ones that will lose Her favor quickly. Redemption can only be found through an act known as “transcribing of sins” which is where the transgressor is to write out the selfish acts they had taken and the repercussions that came from them. Then, after their body is covered with these acts, they are to withstand the ink heating rapidly across themselves. They are to endure this and bear the pain they have caused to others upon themselves.

Interactions with the World

Tiriana prefers to only interact with Omedei if one of Her worshippers is in a dire situation that could cost them their life. Tiriana will often provide a small boon that will prevent an unnecessary death, but She is not omnipresent. These boons are small bursts of strength, willpower, agility, or even a redirection of the event or misdirection down a safer path. Her worshippers are often those that perform burial rites for not only Her, but for other deities as well. Adventuring parties are often accustomed to Her dirges as She is present for all untimely deaths, not just elven ones.
