Tenebrous
The Icon of Pilgrimage
Tenebrous, also known as the Great Cleanser, is an average-height human with light brown skin and eyes of golden, blazing light. He is often depicted wearing tattered priestly garb while wielding a gold and silver sword that seems to draw in the rays of the sun. He serves as the right hand of the Overlord Overlord, the Icon of Leadership, and had aided in the driving back of planar forces from shattering Omen. His battles across Omen alongside the other Icons are believed to be a path to enlightenment for those that are truly devout in Tenebrous’s teachings. His mount is recognized as being a Giant Raven.
Dogma
Tenebrous is seemingly standoffish as an Icon, but this is due to the constant distractions of heretical perversions of life that take place on Omen. Any and all forms of undead are to be purged. Immortality is an insult to divinity. His interactions always maintain a curt reply as His focus is held elsewhere. Unless an issue directly affects Him, He will tend to linger on the outskirts in case it bleeds into His duties.
Gaining Favor or Redemption
To gain favor with Tenebrous one must follow their oaths and faiths without divergence. Loss of favor occurs when one breaks their oaths and falls from grace within their chosen faith. Redemption in Tenebrous’s eyes is done through branding a sun on one’s chest over their heart. Then the transgressor must travel Omen on the same warpaths Tenebrous forged in holy fire.
Interactions with the world
Tenebrous is not truly active in the affairs of Omen, but this does not mean they lack impact. Tenebrous’s hatred of the perversions of life and death has led to His active hand in driving those beings into those that can purge their existences. Many who worship Tenebrous have found that they commonly fight undeath more often than other humans. With this, worshippers of Tenebrous tend to be paladins, clerics, priests, and druids. However, those that have the Necromancer Mark have found that Tenebrous does not answer their prayers unless they add a penitent seal on their mark.
