Tak
The Embodiment of Cities
Tak is a small humanoid with black feathers and a beak that had traveled to many of the different cities of Omedei. With a birch staff in hand and simple robes adorning Her small frame, Tak was separated at an early age from Her clock and was left to survive in the wilds of civilization. She used the magic that flowed through all members of Her flock to find food and water, as well as seek shelter from rain and defend Herself against those who would cause Her harm. It was a hard life, and being unable to communicate with others brought upon even greater difficulty. No matter the strength of Her magic, She would not be able to survive alone forever. One night, Tak encountered a red fox, seeking food within a butcher shop. The creature was hungry and in dire need of something to eat. Tak used Her magic to enter the butcher shop, where the pair took what they needed and ran before the town guards found them. Together they stayed, traveling from town to town offering aid to the downtrodden among men and beasts alike. Her mount is recognized as being a Dire Red Fox.
Dogma
Tak is a kind and empathetic Embodiment that cares for those that have suffered. Some of the most common worshippers of Tak tend to be beggars, druids, and the impoverished within cities. She would brew tea to hear the stories of others and spread them to other cities in hopes of being the connection across Omedei’s suffering masses. To show that these groups are not alone. She treats all life with the utmost respect and is genuinely upbeat and friendly towards any who speak to Her.
Gaining Favor or Redemption
Gaining favor with Tak is often done through learning the stories of others and spreading those stories to those that would relate to them. To provide comfort to the downtrodden and impoverished through some sort of kinship or kindness. To let a story die without resolution, to remove comforts from those that need it most, and even engaging in needless violence are ways to lose Tak’s favor. With this, redemption can only be found through living the lives of those that were wronged. To do so and gain the understanding necessary to find forgiveness in one’s own actions.
Interactions with the World
Tak’s contribution to Omedei is that of a robust, white vine with black, feather-like leaves. This vine is often called a Reacher. Reachers are often found growing on abandoned buildings and have been found to be one of the key indicators of a home no longer inhabited by others. This is believed to occur due to the lack of noise in the building from lack of life and the Reacher is naturally inclined to avoid echoing sounds. Other aspects of the Reacher is its natural fire resistance and thus the Adventurer’s Hall uses Reachers for different kinds of robes or fibers for clothing and mage robes.
