Roll

The Icon of Strength

Roll, also known as the Martyr’s Strength, is a giant of a man that wears simple furs of many different animals. In artistic renditions of Him, He is depicted as aiding others against impossible odds with any and all dangers in His direct path. The Martyr’s Strength was an unstoppable force on the battlefield and could only truly be stopped when the dire turned solemn. Vook Dracul, the Great Dragon of Conquest, recognized Roll’s potential and utilized it against Rotgut, the Embodiment of Forgotten Knowledge. His mount is recognized as being a Heavy War Bull.

Dogma

Roll is a merry barbarian that was kind to all others, but when pushed to the wall became a force strong enough to hold back even the most turbulent storms. If any of his friends were in need, he would cease any and all actions to engage with expedience to aid them even if that decision was poorly planned or lacked any amount of foresight. Roll had always seen it necessary to promote the strength within others as it was needed by all. Knowledge and wisdom come with time, but strength needs to be honed, harnessed, and trained.

Gaining Favor or Redemption

Favor for Roll is gained through feats of strength. From surpassing the physical limits of one’s self, or to lend one’s strength to others are fine examples of favorable actions in Roll’s eyes. However, to fail in one’s own strength. To not be strong enough for one’s self or for others is grounds to lose favor. Redemption for this is found through pushing one’s body to its limit. To exceed limitations and push further until even the greatest of foes are wary of the transgressor’s might.

Interactions with the world

Roll’s interactions with Omen are ever present when one needs the strength to break down whatever barriers they face. Priests of Roll are travelers. Ones that seek out the strong and beckon them to venture to their temples and churches in hopes of them inspiring strength in others. Worshippers of Roll often feel surges of strength within their limbs when they are performing courageous acts for their friends and loved ones. This is believed to be a sign of greater purpose, and thus, these worshippers become Adventurer’s Hall trainers and guard captains.
