Panlong

The Great Dragon of the Sea

The Lord of Depths of the Neverending Horizon, the seventh layer of Totripjah Uoinota, resides within an underwater cave system with a lake full of gemstones and bones. Panlong acts as the Lord of Depths of this layer and has cursed this layer’s “sun” and “moon” to rise and fall with no pattern. This causes many of the petitioners on the Neverending Horizon to go mad as the days bleed into each other until time cannot be kept. Panlong takes great enjoyment out of disrupting the lives of His prey as this makes the collection of their “trophies” all the better as each “trophy” has an interesting story. His mount is recognized to be a Sea Drake.

Dogma

Panlong is a reclusive hunter that takes great pleasure in stalking and destroying any and all trespassers within His waters. He cares more for the caretaking of His territory as opposed to spreading His influence. This is due to His ever present desire to maintain control over what He has and to not overextend His land. However, as He is not a conqueror, Panlong does take small pleasure out of enjoying His surroundings.

Gaining Favor or Redemption

Worshippers of Panlong aim to utilize His ideals for the betterment of balahran society. Because of this, the balahran peoples have attempted to curtail the act of collecting souvenirs from battles and achievements. However, the Lord of Depths’s favor is gained even when a balahran fondly remembers any of their achievements. Redemption for the Thirteen is only for those that are Chosen, and the Chosen must perform acts that are abhorrent to that Great Dragon. For Panlong, this act is invitation. To be able to invite those that would even do you harm as a welcome can be more disarming than an ambush.

Interactions with the World

Panlong influences the actions of His worshippers through temptation, as is this is the typical corruptive action that all of the Thirteen use on their worshippers. Panlong's temptation upon His worshippers is the desire to remove trespassers. This started as the necessity to stake claim on land and to force trespassers out. This even extends further into claiming mementos of kills and victories, but all of this has changed over the generations as balahran now repurpose what was left behind and their achievements are badges of honor that must be passed down. And thus, Panlong benefits from their resourcefulness and history.
